4.0 out of 5 stars Great Speaker for iPhone 3G
I just picked these speakers up for my iphone 3G and they work great. The sound is very clear and plenty loud! I listened to them next to the Altec Lansing T612 and the BOSE SDII; these held their own. You will not get the amount of base that the larger units put out but the vocal quality is very good. I needed something that i could listen to music in my bedroom when i...

I listened to them next to the Altec Lansing T612 and the BOSE SDII; these held their own. You will not get the amount of base that the larger units put out but the vocal quality is very good. I needed something that i could listen to music in my bedroom when i fall asleep and this does the trick. I find myself taking them everywhere, the office, outside to wash the cars, and the porch when we grille out. Great sound, good price, and super portable. If you are debating buying these for the others I mentioned, this is a safe bet and will do just fine for most people. I have a complete home stereo system downstairs that contains nothing but highend speakers and I still like to listen to the logitech unit

4.0 out of 5 stars An excellent compromise, August 29, 2009

If you need a small set of good-sounding speakers with a rechargeable battery that works with your iPod or iPhone, look no further. But this unit is definitely a compromise, and it won't be the best sounding system you've ever heard.

Bass response is very impressive--considering the size. You have two 2" active speakers, and two 3" passive cones. There's only so much air you can move with an arrangement like this, so you won't be waking the neighbors with this unit. But for use on a desk or in a small space, it sounds just fine. Highs are crystal clear and mids are pretty good too.

There are several other choices out there. It seems to me from the reviews out there that this is the only choice in this price range if you're looking for the best combination of portability and sound quality in a rechargable set of speakers. If I were inclined to spend twice the money on a larger box with a more powerful bass punch, I would grab the brand-new Altec Lansing inMotion MIX iMT800 Portable Digital Boom Box for iPhone and iPod, which probably sounds stupendous with its 5" woofer, midrange speakers, plus an FM radio, a better remote, really cool party features...but the MIX is about ten times bigger than this cute little thing, and the MIX isn't rechargeable.

Small? Check. Rechargable? Check. Good battery life? Check. Works with iPhone without interference? Check. Workable remote? Check. Doesn't sound like a tin can? Check. Small enough to throw in a beach bag or backpack with its nice padded case? Check.

Keep your bass response expectations reasonable and you will not be disappointed with the Pure-Fi Anywhere 2.

I've been delighted with my purchase of the Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere 2. The sound quality is outstanding, and it doubles as a recharge station while you're listening to music on your iPhone...iPod...etc. When not plugged into an electrical outlet, the onboard battery will play your music for many hours. For the money, this is an unbeatable product.

Fix the bug, morons! Also, do some proper testing on it before you manufacture and sell them!

5.0 out of 5 stars Very good for the price, September 8, 2011
This review is from: Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere 2 Compact Docking Speakers for iPod and iPhone (White) (Electronics)
These speakers are great for the $50 I paid at Costco. They've survived through harsh conditions for four or five years already (can't remember exactly when I got them). The sound quality is pretty nice and the bass is pretty decent for $50 speakers. They are very portable and can last up to 4 hours of max volume music. The max volume of the speakers when unplugged is lower than the volume of the speakers when they're plugged in. It has an audio plug so you can play music from your mp3s or androids as opposed to iPods. I found something to be pretty neat. When an iPod or iPhone is docked on these speakers, the speakers use the iPod/iPhone's battery. It also charges them and has different dock pieces to fit any kind of iPod/iPhone (maybe not the iPhone 4). To be honest these speakers are great.

Had it about a year. Power adapter dead. I'm pretty annoyed.

That said it was convenient while working with ok sound.

(Logitech sells new power adapters from their website. Got one and it now works, but I shouldnt have had to order a new part.)

1.0 out of 5 stars Another Auto Shut off victim, August 22, 2010

Add one more person to the list of defective Pure-fi buyers. My unit powers off almost immediately with audiobooks and only occasionally makes it through a whole song. The result is the same with 3 different ipods. As others have said, it's a shame because it sounds great but it really is a useless product with this bug. Another issue is that the tiny little on/off indicator lights are impossible to see in daylight which just compounds the problem as you constantly try to figure out if the unit is on or not. I've read that it is supposedly a battery saving feature that has run Amok causing the shutdowns but it seems to me that distortion also causes them. As mine turns off I sometimes hear a sharp static noise for a split second that seems like a response to clipping.

3.0 out of 5 stars Speakers Power Themselves Off, October 13, 2008
By
Archosman (Portland, OR) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere 2 Compact Docking Speakers for iPod and iPhone (White) (Electronics)
Hard to give an appropriate rating due to my set of circumstances, as they do sound and work well with other players.

I'm on my second set of speakers with the same results using an Archos 605 WiFi 30 gig. After an arbitrary amount of time, whether on battery or AC, the speakers power themselves off. I have not had this problem with other MP3 units I own such as a Palm III, Gamin Nuvi 705 or Windows Media Player.

I called the support desk at Logitech and was told to reset the unit by pressing and holding the reset button on the bottom for 15 seconds which did not solve the problem.

In all fairness the speakers sound very good! Great bass and mid-range!! Just disappointed and wanted others to know my results with the Archos. If they didn't power themselves down I'd give a 4 star rating. 5 stars if treble response was better.

5.0 out of 5 stars logictech ipod dock, August 26, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere 2 Compact Docking Speakers for iPod and iPhone (White) (Electronics)
This ipod dock has it all, rechargeable batteries, carry case, great sound, remote control. Did not have the right docking plastic insert for ipod nano, but i had one from another iLive system(don't buy it), so i was okay. The surround sound feature works great in a large open room on digitally formatted recordings.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product!!, June 7, 2011
This review is from: Logitech Pure-Fi Anywhere 2 Compact Docking Speakers for iPod and iPhone (White) (Electronics)
This is my second Logitech product and it is just as good as the first. I love the portability and sound of the speaker. Would recommend this to anyone where price, quality, sound and looks are important.
