These headphones rock. They produce plenty of bass without being muffled or dark. Fit is everything and getting the proper fit is crucial for these babies to perform. Although getting a good fit isn't that difficult, it is important. Stick your fingers in your ears, like you were blocking out all sound (but not completely sealing your ears like you were going under water)and that is what you should have when you properly insert these headphones into your ear (without sound). They will sound great and not be uncomfortable if inserted correctly. They give me the bass I was missing with most other units and they sound great on the high end too. If you have an EQ on your player, then you will be in heaven trying to find the perfect setting. I use them on my iRiver Clix and it's like a whole new player with these phones.
They are expensive, but worth it if you want some more LOWS. I highly recommend these. I agree that you won't be disappointed with your purchase.

Presence, plain and simple., March 24, 2008
If you are something of a portable audio junky you will like these. Most portable audio nowadays are mp3 or another such format. Most people that listen to these formats pay little or no attention to their bitrate, and it generally sits around 128kbs. This is fine for most music but it isn't everything your portable can do. Most can preform lossless 320kbs. What this means is that you lose something of the "feeling" that your music has. These headphones can put them back. You should buy these headphones if you enjoy a depth to your music that sits on the low ends of things. This doesn't just mean bass, as they are advertised towards. It means anything with a lower in hum or strike or pluck. These sound wonderful if you listen to Dance, Hiphop, Metal, Rock, Cello (which I am a fan of since I play that and the guitar) and string instruments. Anything with heavy percussion and variation will be felt, not just heard. The only downside to these headphones is low quality live recordings (those with a lot of background noise and feedback) and speech orientated tracks.
You should purchase these headphones if you:
* Want to be able to feel the lower end of the musical spectrum.
* Want a greater presence in MP3's that are not lossless
* Want your lossless formats to be moving in the ways they were when you first heard them
* Don't want to deal with, or don't have an portable player with an equalizer
* The cord is also high quality and thick, so you know it is transmitting everything to your player
The cons are personal. These are on the larger end of in ear headphones. I work out at the gym with them and have no problems, but I could see someone not being comfortable. They wrap around the top of your ear and come down. The foam insert leave something to be desired, I won't lie. They are not as springy as some of the competitors. The cord is also shorter than some people like. The case is a little bit cumbersome, but it protects the headphones. It is a slight issue taking them out and putting them back each time though. If you do this everything, they'll last forever. This is an investment, why wouldn't you?
Do not buy these if:
* You have an issue with a cord wrapping around the top of your ear
* You have an problem with larger ear-buds
* You want a pair of foam inlets, but prefer something soft to something slightly abrasive
* You like music on the high end of things, or you listen to a lot of podcasts/talk radio/low quality live recordings or anything with background noise
* You want something that dips into studio khz under 20, these do not and its a shame. You should just buy studio headphones in that case
They sound good, they are sturdy, they do their job, and they are worth the investment if you take care of them.

Superb sound for Rock & Bass/Drum Heavy Music, December 24, 2006
The sound quality on these is Superb !! the best I've heard yet. I have Sure E3c & Eytemotics and both have very clear and smooth middle & highs but no real bass under 120 cycles, when you crank up the bass with EQ they
get very distorted.
These babies have bass up the ying-yang and the mids/highs are just as good as the $200 Sure's. I can listen at high volume for hours wih no noise fatigue at all. Having a separate driver for bass/mids-highs works great. I set the EQ flat on my MP3 player and UES 5-eb's sound great !!
Another nice featue is you don't have cram them so far into your ear canal to get any bass response.
There are a couple of cosmetic problems though, they have the cable that goes over the top of your ears and they are BIG, so they stick out
of your ears quite a bit, if you want primo sound then get these, if you a
fashion slave you might find them a bit "Dorky" looking.
