These failed after 2 months, twice.
I read the opinions below, a lot of the customers gave very positive feedbacks so I would like to point out something that to me, is the downside of UE900.
They don't sound bass heavy or overly bright - they are very well balanced.

It seems sometimes as though I'm on a never-ending quest for the perfect set of in-ear headphones. I don't ask for much either. I want a set that sounds great, filters out some of the outside noise and can stay in place during a workout. I finally got my wish in Logitech's UE 900 Noise Isolating Headphones.

I've had high-end headphones before, and have had Logitech products before, but the UE 900s are in a class by themselves. I'm not an audiophile, but I've never heard sound this crisp and clear from any in-ear headphone before. It's like hearing every element of a song and seeing exactly how they're layered, if that makes any sense at all. I mostly use it for MP3s on my iPhone, but I had to plug them in to my stereo system and pop in the 5.1 mix of Opeth's Still Life. It was a revelation.

Beyond the sound quality, the UE 900s have a terrific design that lets them fit snugly in my ears and stay in place without any bulky extras. I really didn't trust that simply looping the cord behind my ear would work, but it does. I almost never need to adjust them, even during a run.

The only problem I have with these - and it's not a small one - is that after a couple of months the connections between the cord and earpieces have gotten really bad. The sound cuts in and out, and sometimes I'll get a static noise from them. At least once during each use I'll have to disconnect and reconnect, and even that doesn't fix everything. This kind of flaw in such a high end piece of equipment is just not acceptable.

So how to rate these? If it wasn't for the connection issue, I'd say these are perfect and may actually be worth the very high price tag. And that issue would definitely have me tossing a less expensive pair. In the end I have to go with a 3-star rating.

Vine Customer Review of Free Product ( What's this? )
For years now Ultimate Ears has provided my personal benchmark for the best sound in-ear headphones can produce. I listen to music on my own favorite headphones, their TripleFi 10s, every day, and whenever I am testing a new headphone I always compare it against both the TripleFis and a friend's older pair of SuperFi 5 Pros which are still the best-sounding things I've ever put in my ears. So I was excited to test the new top of the Ultimate Ears consumer lineup, the UE 900 -- the first really new high-end earphone UE has produced since the Logitech acquisition, and a make-or-break model for the brand.

I'll go into more detail below, but here's the short version: the UE 900s passed the test with flying colors. These are simply fantastic headphones. They deliver just what they should: truly excellent, best-in-class sound quality (though it's arguably not much of an upgrade over the already fantastic-sounding TripleFi and older SuperFi models), a few key improvements in build and form factor, and a premium feel in keeping with the high price tag.

The unboxing experience is entirely commensurate with the UE 900s' price tag. A store-shelf-friendly advertising wrapper protects the outside of the real box, which is a heavy black cardboard enclosure stuffed with protective closed-cell foam. Inside its lid, a cardboard folder protects the manual and warranty information, along with UE's traditional photo booklet, full of interesting concert images.

My audiophile journey started with a cheap pair of Koss in-ears (poor fit and boomy bass), followed by Etymotic ER6i's (accurate but anemic bass, boring sound signature, horrible microphonics), Ultimate Ears Super Fi 5 Pro (decent bass, but still not exciting enough in the treble region), Ultimate Ears Triple Fi 10 (boomy bass, sibilant treble, poor fit, but despite all of that my favorite in-ears to date).

My review will focus on a comparison of this IEM to its predecessor the Triple Fi 10 (which I will refer to as TF10 from now on), and will hopefully help you decide whether it's worth it to invest another $400.

Form: UE900 fit is 100% better than the TF10's. The tips no longer protrude straight out from your ears, it now feels more like a custom IEM and "sits" on the inner part of your outer ear. It also lies flush so that you can actually sleep on your side with these on. In addition, the barrel where the sound exits is much smaller on the UE900 and appears to be 1 medium-sized channel and 1 tiny channel rather than the 2 large channels of the bulkier TF10. With any of the stock silicon tips (S, M, L) the TF10 would slip out of my ear simply because the barrel was as large as my ear canal. The stock Comply T500 foam tips allowed the TF10's to stay in my ears and form a nice seal, but the tradeoff was the treble and high-mids became muffled/veiled. The barrel of the UE900 is much smaller and both silicon and foam tips (Comply Ts500) stay in my ear canal without slipping out.

Sound: There is so much debate about whether driver burn-in exists. Maybe the driver changes its signature or maybe you adjust to the sound, the end result is the same: you listen to these headphones over a period of time and see whether you like it or not.
