The keys are small, but what do you expect on a keyboard for a mini!

Connecting the keyboard to the iPad was very easy and it has had zero connection problems.

Design: it looks great - nice soft rubberized feel and a good grip on the iPad itself.

Overall, this thing is great, and may well become my daily all-the-time iPad case.

I originally purchased this to accompany me on an international vacation where I wouldn't have space for a laptop, but wanted a journal, and being in high tech, my finger muscles have atrophied to the point where I can barely write legibly with (shudder) pen and paper anymore, let alone for any length of time. So I was looking for small, light and functional. Logitech nailed it...almost.

First, the good stuff.
- Size & weight: It's incredibly light, barely adding to the weight of the bare device. It does add some size - roughly doubling the thickness of the iPad, but then I've had some folio cases (particularly the leather ones) which are thicker, so it's pretty impressive.
- Typing ability: Logitech really put some thought into the design of this thing. The standard keys are normal-ish sized, and most of the peripheral keys are half size. It feels a lot like a slightly smaller regular keyboard . The keys have a good throw and a satisfying click. I'm typing this review on it. Most of the keys are in a natural place, and my fingers can operate quite well on muscle memory. The biggest frustration is the apostrophe, which is half sized and I regularly miss it and hit the return key.
- Design: it looks great - nice soft rubberized feel and a good grip on the iPad itself. On eof my favorite features is the way you can lay the iPad down flat over the keyboard for browsing and then just move it back for typing. I use that a lot for email - flipping it up when I need to write a longer message.

Not so good:
- Stability: In the first few days of using it, when the iPad was in the typing position, it would bounce around.

I was really on the fence as to whether to award this product 4 or 5 stars. I eventually settled on 4 stars because while it is a really high-quality case and keyboard and works very well, making my iPad Mini 2 a much better device overall with it than without it; there are a few seemingly minor design choices related to the keyboard layout that could have been easily changed to make it much better when used for two-handed touch typing.

The case protects the iPad thoroughly when closed and the magnets hold the case closed securely. I wouldn't want to drop it on concrete from a second-floor window but I feel good having it in my briefcase, on the passenger seat of the car, or in my hand as I walk around my home or office. When open the iPad is exposed, in the same way that the screen of a laptop is exposed when a laptop is open. In "laptop mode" the magnets hold everything together well enough that the assembly can be carried from the case's top edge or supported underneath. I'm not worried about the lack of coverage when opened, but be aware that if you are accident-prone or are otherwise looking for total coverage for your iPad, this case might not be your best choice.

(By the way, the Logitech Ultrathin Keyboard Folio will fit both the original iPad Mini as well as the iPad Mini 2/iPad Mini Retina. Both are held very securely once snapped in yet are easy to remove (READ THE INSTRUCTIONS!!!) when desired. So far, after the first day when I was putting it in and taking it out frequently as I was deciding if I liked the case, I haven't felt the need to remove it from the case a single time.

I'll start with the good, as there is a lot to love about this keyboard case for the iPad mini. The fit and finish are pretty great. The material feels great in the hands. The case doesn't add much weight. And it just looks good.

The case grips the iPad with 2 corner huggers. They hold on tight, and it takes a bit of effort to remove the device, so no need to worry about it slipping out. This does mean 2 corners are exposed when holding the device as a tablet, but there is a reason for this. When you open the case, you can prop the iPad up which relies on magnets on part of the keyboard. I imagine adding any sort of padding to the inner corners of the iPad would have interfered with this magnetic feature. And I will say that the angle in which the iPad sits in the case when propped up is very good. The device doesn't tip over and is easily seen even when it is sitting in your lap.

One of the main issues I do have with the fit of the case is the mute and volume buttons are not easily accessible when the iPad is in the case. They can be pressed, but I'd prefer it be easier. The sleep button hides under one of the corner huggers and is easy to press.

There are two pads at the bottom of the keyboard face that allow a bit of separation so the iPad screen doesn't rest flat on the keyboard when the case is closed. I wish there were some bumpers at the top of the keyboard face for the same reason, but it doesn't appear to be a big deal, and I use screen protectors anyway.

The chiclet keys are sturdy and don't feel cheap. And for the size of the keyboard, the key arrangement is well done. The only key that messes me up is the A key as it is double the width of most of the other keys and also acts as the Caps Lock key (with the function [fn] key held down).
