Very good small mouse, approximately 1000 dpi, 2/3 the size of a regular mouse,

I got this mouse because I wanted a small mouse, since I mostly use my fingers to control a mouse, rather than using large sweeping wrist/arm movements (to do this, you set the Control Panel Mouse speed at maximum - this does require very good fine finger motor control).
This mouse does have a short cord (about 24 inches long) that everybody has mentioned. Since the computer I use is right next to me, I just plug it into one of the front panel USB plugs. For other computers, you will need a USB extension cord. The left and right click buttons are just fine, about equivalent in light touch to the standard Microsoft optical mouse that I had been using. The scroll wheel is not as good as Microsoft's scroll wheels - it has that typical ratchety feel that most Logitech mice seem to have. So I took off one star for that. While looking around for mice, I was unable to find ANY information as to the specifications for this mouse, not even on Logitech's website. So here are my measurements: Dimensions: 4-7/8" (9.8 cm) long x 2" (5 cm) wide x 1-3/8" (3.3 cm) high. The waist on this mouse is about 1-3/4" (4.5 cm) wide. This waist is a nice feature, since it makes the mouse feel smaller than it really is. Laser tracking: probably around 1000 dpi. That's my best estimate, after measuring the cursor motion vs. mouse movement off my LCD screen several times. Weight: 76 grams (including cord) And so this is not one of the smaller travel mice - it's only about 2/3 of the size of a regular mouse. Although it is lighter than a standard sized mouse, it does have a solid feel to it unlike some of the really small travel mice which are so lightweight that the slightest finger twitch will cause them to move. The travel speed of the mouse (at the same Control Panel Mouse settings) is much faster than the 400 dpi standard Microsoft optical mouse I had been using, but I find the speed to be just about right. The 1000 dpi speed minimizes the amount of hand/finger travel, while still remaining controllable for me. It makes the old 400 dpi mouse feel like it is standing still. (I should note that I also tried a 1600 dpi Iogear laser mouse - with the Control Panel settings set at maximum speed, the Iogear runs wild, and is too hard to control).

Great mouse.,

Great, great mouse. I had a cordless optical Microsoft mouse before this one, and it doesn't even compare. It's perfect for a notebook computer. As mentioned, the cord is short, but it's great if your USB ports are on the correct side so the wire doesn't get in your way.
The best part of this mouse other than its great ambidextrous ergonomic fit or responsive scroll wheel is the laser technology. If you haven't tried a laser mouse you don't know what you're missing. It's as great as a step from the wheel mouse to the optical mouse as it is from a optical mouse to a laser mouse. This mouse literally works on all surfaces, and well for that matter. Great, great product. Highly recommended. Just make sure your USB port is on the correct side.

Nice and accurate but not for large hands.,

I like it. I had the MS wireless laser mouse but didn't care for the fact that every once in awhile, I would lose the signal. So, I bought this one.
It's accurate and comfortable but it's not for large hands. I have kids and they use the computer so I don't mind this smaller mouse but if you have large hands, forget it. Also, the cord is very short (about 2 ft long) so you will need a hub on your desk top or an extension cable, neither of which is included.

It's really a small mouse,

My hands are not big compared with normal people but this mouse is really small. If you want to play games with a mouse, just ignore this one. Also, the cord is very short. If you are right-handed using your laptop, you must have your usb connected to the right side.
Apart from above, I had this mouse for 9 months and then its left button stop working and I just could not make it back to work again, so I quit and go for a new mouse. I just want to say if you are not really devoted to getting a tiny mouse which might be convenient when you always use your laptop everywhere, forget about this one.

Don't like small mice? Don't buy it!,

It cracks me up that people buy a small mouse, knowing what they're getting into, and then complain about the size. You don't see me buying big mice and complaining about those, do you?
I happen to love small mice. I handle mice with whats called a claw grip; instead of just plopping my palm down on it and shoving my whole arm around, i only touch the mouse with my fingertips. Anyway, about the mouse. I love it. Laser tracking really does make a difference. It lacks the weirdness of the old style optical where they bug out on woodgrain or stripes or just flip out for no reason and toss the cursor off to the edge of the screen in a millisecond. None of that. I like a lightweight mouse, as it's easier to control, so that means it has to be corded. The cord's pretty thin, which does an ok job of keeping it from interfering. The glide feet are slightly oversized, and they are really quite slippery. So it's ideal for me. So yeah, it's a notebook mouse, and it's a fine one. If you don't have a notebook, don't get it. If you don't have a claw grip or tiny child hands, don't get it.

The Logitech V150 Laser Mouse works flawlessly. It is smaller than a standard Mouse which only makes it easier to transport and store. Operating it is simple and straight-forward. Great product !!

When I ordered this mouse, I thought it would be the size of a regular one. But it is definitely smaller since it's a notebook mouse, so if you have medium-large hands, this isn't for you. I have smallish hands and if I use it too much I get a cramp sometimes. But it is still a good mouse,
The shorter cord makes it ideal for use with any portable computer as you don't have to worry about it getting tangles in your charging cord or anything. The fact that it is a laser mouse is also nice since I might use my laptop in bed and won't have a mouse pad. It works just fine moving it over my blanket and most other things. You just plug it in to a USB port and can use it right away, no installation required. The scroll wheel is customizable and is very smooth. A great buy for the price.

My v150 is wearing out because of constant daily use. I checked out the Logitech MX Performance, M500 and G500 - the fancy mice with tons of buttons, hyper scroll, the latest laser technology, etc. After spending weeks of trying them out at Best Buy, reading reviews, changing my mind, amazingly, I've come to the conclusion that the v150 is the mouse for me. It's the perfect size (2/3 the size of a normal mouse - I use claw hold, keeping wrist stationary and only moving my fingers) for my big hands. The laser sensor is accurate and fast on almost all surfaces. It's corded so no batteries to deal with. It's solid feeling but light. It stands up to lots of abuse. The scroll wheel is sturdy and precise, and clicks nicely when pushed to the left or right or when scrolling, even after years of abuse.
In short, it's the perfect mouse for me. I'm going to spend the $100 that would've gone to an MX Performance instead stocking up on v150s (since, sadly, it's been discontinued).

Overall satisfaction,
This review is from: Logitech V150 Laser Notebook Mouse (Personal Computers)
even though its USB cable is very short and it's not mentioned in the item's page, the mouse grab is fantastic & the laser sensitivity also.
It's a good mouse to purchase if you don't care about shorty cables. |
