I have XP and Windows 7. It works with both. But I don't know about Windows 8. Sorry.

Answer is " Yes " you can uncheck that feature. In Logitech web -cam soft ware.

I don't have Win 8 or 8.1, but it works very well with Win 7. Suggest that the Logitech site be contacted to see if there is a software download for Win 8 or 8.1 listed. If not, it probably is not supported.

I bought this for my mother to use so we could Skype, living 1k miles apart. It isn't top quality, given the price, but it does what it's supposed to do.

Yes, it works just great. I use it daily on Skype. One can even turn off the lights in the room, and it still projects the pictures.No need to purchase a better one. Sound is perfect too.I put a extension on my cord so I can stick it out into my back yard. I'm 100 % satisfied.
