Works with Rock Band,
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars

I am not a singer but this is fun to use with Rock Band. I bought the game without the instruments and use my GH III wireless Les Paul.
This is a corded microphone. The fifteen foot length is plenty for most situations. It can plug directly in your console if you have a free slot or into a USB hub. If you prefer black you can get the same Logitech Vantage model that's marked for the PS3 and PS2. That's what I did and it works fine with the 360. The microphone also works on Windows Vista. Just plug it in and the driver will be installed automatically.

I bought this because I did not need the complete instrument set for RockBand. I was worried if the game would recognize the microphone or not. The microphone worked very well and would recommend it to anyone looking for one to purchase to use on RockBand.

Use Logitech Vantage USB Microphone with Windows Vista,

This microphone can also be used to record with a PC. I've used it to record my voice & guitar on a laptop running MS Vista and it has given me surprisingly good results, considering the investment. I just plugged it into a USB port and Vista did its thing installing drivers, etc. and said the device was ready to use. Opened Audacity and started recording. Can't beat it for simplicity and cost economy.

I have the American Idol Karaoke game, and my kids were always fighting over the microphone to sing it since it came with only one. Finally I decided to purchase another mic so they can sing together. I chose this one, and it has impressed me so far. It works really well, no problems at all...except reminding them that it is hooked to the xbox360, so they can't run through the house singing with it. :)

This is a pretty good microphone, especially for music games like Rock Band, Singstar, Guitar Hero, etc. It's also good for recording, barely any crackling or fuzz when using this mic.
Also, It's a good color for the mic, even if not using for xbox 360.

This is a quality product that is reasonably priced...especially after your kids wear out the original Rock Band mike!

I bought this microphone because my wife got me the Rockband 2 game only (I already had a guitar that I used from Guitar Hero II and bought the Les Paul guitar for Guitar Hero, that works fine for Rockband and doubles as a bass). Anyway, I refused to pay full price for the "original, licensed" Rockband microphone (more than $40), but I was concerned that the Logitech microphone wouldn't be able to do the tambourine effect effect required for Rockband. Well, good news!!! I works perfectly with Rockband, and for half the price. A great buy!

I bought this microphone in july of 2008. it worked well, up until now. i barely ever used it, using it only to play rock band a few times a month at most. it is now march 2009, and the microphone is broken. it was never dropped or mistreated in any way. it is definitely the microphone as i have to now literally scream into the microphone to get it to register any sort of noise, both on the xbox 360 and on my computer.

I had gotten the Mad Catz mic with the integrated controller to go along with the RB and GH games that uses it. Bought the game separately. The thing just NEVER worked right, the USB plug was always loose and just never worked. Got rid of that, and got this one at less than half the price and it works PERFECT! Get this one and don't look back.

I would love a better microphone, but it works and it does the job pretty well. It's not made to last, as most microphones have "moving" parts, and its going to die eventually. Perhaps it will stop working, perhaps you will get static, in rockband you may even be unable to get it to stop registering noise. And then you will replace it... probably with this model again. Because there is little competition in this area.
