5.0 out of 5 stars Great for the price and works with any iPod!
The Logitech MM22 Portable Speakers are great! I have a 3G iPod, an iPod mini and an iPod Shuffle, all works great and the sound is good enough for a medium size room. I used it in my bedroom and as an Alarm Clock with my iPod when I travel. The set of speakers are very light and feels ok and works with any kind of portable audio device, no just iPods!

1.0 out of 5 stars Is that as high as it goes?
I feel misled by the rave reviews here and elsewhere. I jumped at this given the price and others' praise. The latter was misplaced; the former wasn't low enough.

The MM22 might be fine for a hotel room, but it'd better be a damned quiet hotel. I have trouble hearing the damned thing even when I press it to my ears. Yes, I've found the volume buttons, and yes...

Pros:
+Great Price!!!!!!
+Good Sound: Trebble and Bass
+Very Compact: Great for travels
+It's powered via AC (included) or batteries
+Did I Say Price????
Cons:
-No iPods Auto Charge, you must charge the iPod via the dock connector with it's AC Charger
-Not as loud as others more expensive iPod Speakers.
-The line out cable doesn't look as good as if the iPod were connected via the dock's audio out port

Yes, I've found the volume buttons, and yes it makes a difference - from inaudible to barely audible.

The design is cute, the carrying case is nice (though excessive unless you need to carry all 3 cables and all 3 adapters, which you won't), and the price is low. But cheap is cheap, and this one's not the effort.

I first thought of getting these speakers because they were cheap. I was extremely scared that the sound quality would be horrible considering the price, but I was quite surprised when I plugged in my 4gb ipod mini.

It was extremely easy to set up, with different sized cradles for different sized ipods (I think it works for other mp3s too, but ipod seems to be the focus), and all cables included. I got everthing plugged in in seconds.

When I turned the speakers on, the sound quality was amazing, even when I turned the volume all the way up.

I also like how it is so packable, it comes in a little carrying case that you can even fit your ipod mini in if you like (probably won't fit the regular ipod though). The speakers fold up, but then you can unfold them when you're using them.

Great product, especially for the price!

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Speakers, July 25, 2006

These Speakers are great for the price. I did a lot of research, and my price range was under $70, and these were clearly the best speakers I found. I have owned these speakers for about 2 months now, and I am highly satisfied with them. Here are some pros and cons to help you make your decision.

PROS:
1. The Sound for these speakers is unparalled for its size. I put my speakers in my room upstairs, and I can hear them in the kitchen all the way downstairs! I was also pleased with the bass.

2. These speakers are very portable and durable, they fold easily into a rectangular position.

3. Great carrying case that seems pretty sturdy.

4. Good battery life. I don't know the exact specs, but I've only had to change the batteries once in 2 months with frequent use.

CONS:

1. The detachable dock thing is kind of annoying. You also have to connect the speakers to the headphone jack, in other words, to many things to connect. It would be better if the Ipod connected directly to the speakers through the dock connector.

2. The docks are too big for my ipod nano. It fits okay in the ipod mini dock, but it still wobbles around. You can buy nano specific docks from logitech's website.

3. There is a small scratchy noise when the speakers are loud. However, I found that the best sound is when the ipod is at approx 85-90% volume, and the speakers are almost all the way up.

4. Doesn't charge the iPod. This isn't really that big of a deal, because I just plug my ipod into an outlet while its plugged into the speakers because they don't take up the dock connector like other speakers.

Overall, its a great buy.

5.0 out of 5 stars good travel speakers, April 2, 2006

I'm using these speakers in South Africa. The adapter allows me to use it both in the US and in South Africa (100v-240v, 50/60 Hz). I can hear it from two rooms away because I turn the volume up on the speakers as well as my mp3 player. You need to turn it up for both in order to hear how loud it can be. Those who are complaining about the low volume may be hard of hearing and are expecting too much from a set of portable speakers. I am satisfied with the volume range.

My housemates use it to watch movies on their laptops. They are sturdy speakers, a good value, good quality and I highly recommend them if you plan to travel abroad and don't want to ruin your eardrums by using earphones the whole time. The case that it comes with is gorgeous and sturdy as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Decent product, May 26, 2006

I bought these about a month ago so that I could have speakers to listen to audiobooks in the bath.

These are good SMALL speakers. You're not buying a Bose system here, so don't expect that kind of power. What they are, however, are very nice small speakers that do the job when you're watching a movie on your laptop or are tired of earphones. I can hear the sound just fine over running water or the sound of my sewing machine.

I like the gadgety design and the fact that you can use them with batteries if you want to be a bit more portable.

I do wish they'd charge the iPod though.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great product at a great price, June 17, 2006
This review is from: Logitech mm22 Portable Speakers for iPod (Electronics)
I normally do not review products online, but in this case I have to make an exception. I purchased these speakers 6 months ago and they have been wonderful. The sound can fill a decent sized room and is remarkably clear. Sound is distorted, but only at high levels. I have used these speakers at hotels around the world, at home, at the beach, etc. The possibilities are endless. The included case has room for extra batteries and is slim enough to put in an overnight bag. To underscore their portability, I brought them to the beach and used them with batteries. There is no difference in sound quality while using batteries, which I find to be very nice. I have the mindset as well that if for some reason they break, at $20 (what I paid) , they are nearly disposable. If you have any doubts at all about these speakers, BUY THEM!! They're cheap, they do the job, they work in a 110-240v outlet with the included power cord and they are portable. What more could you want for the money?

4.0 out of 5 stars Cool little speakers, October 21, 2005
This review is from: Logitech mm22 Portable Speakers for iPod (Electronics)
These are really cute, they fit on a nice little stand with the ipod in the middle, and everything fits neatly in an attractive black zippered case. The speakers have a good sound, though not as loud as some people might want, but for their tiny size they're a great buy.

2.0 out of 5 stars FAIR When They Actually Work, June 1, 2005
This review is from: Logitech mm22 Portable Speakers for iPod (Electronics)
I went to the store trying to find some ipod speakers that wouldn't cost me more than 100 bucks. i saw these and thought that theyd be ok, and they sold for a good price of only 60 bucks. i brought em home and used em off and on for about a week. they were always giving off very good sound quality, but the cradle did a horrible job of holding up the ipod and the speakers kept falling down. i kept it though, i just avoided using the cradle. about a week after i started using em, one speaker completely stopped playing music. i was really annoyed buy it and decided to take it back. i looked around and found a much better speaker system, the Logic-3 iStation, although it cost me double the price. however, i am very happy with the iStation, and i don't know what happened to logitech here because i usually am very happy with their products.
