Lojack for Laptops seems like a good deal when you buy it and your computer hasn't been stolen, BUT don't be fooled. I installed Lojack for Laptops because I figured it might be smart to have since I was going to college in the fall. After my computer was stolen out of the library, I activated the software within minutes of my computer being taken from the desk, hoping it might still be connected to the internet but unfortunately it was never found. After I didn't hear back from Lojack in almost a month, I looked into the software a little closer. If you have a Mac, all a thief has to do is wipe your hard drive and, as long as he doesn't connect to the internet before doing so, he is off free and clear. So, essentially, if a thief is looking to pawn off or sell your computer, he/she is going to wipe the hard drive one way or another and you, like me, will be screwed. If you have a PC, its a little different because the program will stay in the BIOS of your computer and you may still have a chance. However, DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT if you have a macbook. Now I need to buy another macbook pro and, to add insult to injury, I wasted $100 on a security product that didn't deliver. Save yourself the money and don't make the same mistake that I did.

Having had a computer for years, I have had to send emails seeking advice\solutions to all kinds of software and computer and accessory folks. I have had mixed response from everyone from really bad (no response) to fair (got back in a day or two). I recently had a question for LOJACK, I sent an email and was really surprised when I got an email with actual help and advice in less that a couple of hours. I wrote back with additional information and received two emails back from different people. Their advice and help was fantastic. I've had many problems with my computer, gone through 4 hard drives a mother board and several memory chips, but every time I checked at LOJACK to see if my computer is still checking in, I found that I didn't have to do anything, the software was still protecting me. I really feel secure and safe with LOJACK protection. 5 STARS!

I bought this software through my Laptop (what a big mistake!) and thought it was cool until I tried to upgrade. I have been trying for a solid week to get an upgrade and no amount of money (via credit or PayP*L) will make this company happy. I argued with them about canceled orders and wasted a week on the phone with them. Stay away from this software; they really don't care about the customer. At the end, I asked If I could get an invoice, and I could send them a check (since they say all my c.cards are fraudulent)-they flat out refused to take my check also - so I really don't have any idea how to send them money.

I would hate to deal with them on a laptop recovery issue with their lack of customer service.
