1.0 out of 5 stars Do Not Buy, March 28, 2011
This review is from: Lojack For Laptops Standard - 3 Year Mac (CD-ROM)
I had this installed for 3 years without issue. However, after having a password issue with my account, I have received less than stellar support. Wait, that is not fair. To have received support, some effort must have been made. They have made none.

I've tried web support to no effect. I've tried the phone to no resolution. 877 number for Absolute told me to redial and choose another option. What option? They didn't know. Then someone told me to contact Digital River and called them, they referred me back to the folks that told me to call them. 90 minutes on the phone and I'm now submitting a dispute via my credit card company.

I would agree with another users comment. All their funds are put into marketing alone.

I bought this for piece of mind more than anything and I have received just that and fear the loss of my MacBook a lot less.

3.0 out of 5 stars Can anyone tell me?, October 6, 2009
This review is from: Lojack For Laptops Standard - 3 Year Mac (CD-ROM)
Since I own an iPhone, and I have done my upgrades, I can locate my iPhone and zero it out remotely. If I want to.

Can anyone tell me why I can't do this with all MACBOOK PROs? It seems so common sense!

I can't tell if the lo-jack software (and the company recovery teams, or police, or whatever) is really going to work except by fully testing it. Who wants to do that... At least the web site idea is neat. Better than nothing I guess. Use a good password, and at least your ID will only be stolen by really qualified hackers who work on stolen / lost laptops...
