Lokas (2008) directed by Gonzalo Justiniano, November 28, 2010
This review is from: Lokas (DVD)
I liked this movie since, well it has contrasts without being too angst. Pedro, the you boy with an homophobic father and a gay grandfather, is way more adult than most of the adults around him, but he is still a boy. By the way, even if it's not one of the issues his father has, there is no way that 9 years old Pedro is gay, he is too much interested in women to be.
On the other side, Charly is not an "extreme" homophobic, he has prejudices, but the types of prejudices that are more words than actions. When he is faced with the news that his estranged father is gay, well, he is more perplexed than disgusted, and in any case, he doesn't refuse to have a relationship with him.
Mario is for sure a bit of a stereotype, he is very much flamboyant, but I found cute his love story with his younger lover. And Flavio is even more cuter, probably the best gay character in this movie.
