4.0 out of 5 stars more complicated than it seems
the description made this piece of craftwork seems very easy (1-2 hrs to put it together) but in reality it really took ~ 6 hrs (alright I was kinda watching movie at the same time...). I used the white glue, which takes some time to dry up. You do have to hold the pieces together while the glue is drying, so that's why it took so long to finish the craftwork...

3.0 out of 5 stars Meh
I'm not really sure what I was expecting. It was a slow process to build the camera since glue does not seem to stick well enough to the material. I tried several types of glue and decided that rubber cement, Bobby pin clamps and time worked. There are parts of the camera that required taping as I could see no other way to attach it to the body of the camera. I have yet...

the description made this piece of craftwork seems very easy (1-2 hrs to put it together) but in reality it really took ~ 6 hrs (alright I was kinda watching movie at the same time...). I used the white glue, which takes some time to dry up. You do have to hold the pieces together while the glue is drying, so that's why it took so long to finish the craftwork.

There are several typos in the numbering of the pieces (in the manual) that made the put-together a little bit confusing, but as long as you have an idea what this project is about, you can figure it out easily. Just beware when you are putting the 'shutter' together, measure well before you glue -- you might have to trim off part of the 'shutter' piece to get the pieces together if you don't. In order to make the shutter piece end up in the right place on the finished camera, check the placement of the shutter (by rotating the 'shutter' piece (before gluing the 'lens' piece) 90-degree on the 'body' piece) before putting the 'lens' and 'shutter' pieces together.

About the black paper for fixing light leaking, it is essential -- the cardboard paper for the camera body is not totally opaque, so make sure you stick your eye in the body compartments and check for ANY sign of light, especially the edge.

Overall this is a fun craftwork to work on as long as you have an idea what a pinhole camera is.

Now the tough part is to find a camera shop that still develops films...

There are parts of the camera that required taping as I could see no other way to attach it to the body of the camera. I have yet to develop pictures from my camera-- I'm not confident that the shutter piece was open and closed properly since the camera parts kept coming off while I took pictures. Overall I feel disappointed with this kit.
