Product Description

Manufacturer Description

Hold on tight. Imagine everything above, below, and around you streaming through your eyes and compacting into a nice little ball. Think about your best friend's nose being vacuum-sucked into your lens, all the while their eyes and forehead are s-t-r-e-t-c-h-e-d back. Visualize yourself bowled over by the devastating colors that only fine glass can deliver. The world's first honest-to-God Fisheye camera is here and waiting to swim into your life. Open your heart, stretch out your hands, and grease up your fins.

170-degree field of view
The heart, soul, and blood of the Fisheye's brilliance: an enormous field of view that takes in literally half of the world around you and compacts it into a nice and tight circular image. Barrel distortions twist and bend your subjects around the edges, stretch them towards and away from your lens, and converge their lines towards the center. See for yourself--the effect is simply stunning.

Extreme close-up potential
Not an exercise for the timid--the Fisheye lavishly rewards those who bravely advance within a whisper of their subject. Get right up to their face, and watch their nose get sucked into your lens while their ears and forehead s-l-i-d-e backwards. Sharp, beautiful pictures are possible from even the closest quarters. Party on.

Huge depth of field
Super-wide-angle images like the ones spat out by the Fisheye come with a wonderful bonus: focused sharpness from the front to the rear of your image. Each fisheye image shows massive depth of field, so your subject and background will be nice and crispy clear.

Premium glass optics
Sitting inside that massive snout are several of the loveliest optical-glass lens elements that you have ever seen. They work together in perfect harmony to give you bright colors, punchy contrast, super-blue skies, ultra-red lips, and yellow bananas like you have never seen before.

Built-in electronic flash
Whenever you need him, this bright little hombre is ready to light up and fire a solid burst of white. Your Fisheye pleasure is no longer limited to daylight hours.

Sleek Goldfish embossing
Swimming off the right side of your camera is a beautifully detailed "koi" goldfish. One part children's illustration and one part yakuza tattoo--it's a real looker on the Fisheye.

Forget the Viewfinder
Because it doesn't work anyway. With the Fisheye's massive field of view, it sees much more than any simple viewfinder or even your own eyes can see. The Fisheye truly invites you to "shoot from the hip" and capture everything from the Earth to the heavens in the process.

What's in the Box:
Fisheye Submarine underwater case, clip-on flash diffuser, rubber sealing rings, lubrication, and maintenance tools.

Product Description

The Fisheye Submarine is the Big Dipper of all underwater camera cases. It takes the Fisheye experience to a whole new level! Compatible with both the Fisheye 1 & 2, you and your camera can now explore new depths together. Even as deep as 20m below the surface, the Fisheye Submarine¿s crystal-clear polycarbonate lens opening means your shots are as focussed and bursting with colour as ever.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun accessory for a fun camera!, July 2, 2008

This review is from: Lomography Fisheye Submarine Case (Clear/Red) (Electronics)
This product does exactly what it says it will. It protects the Lomography fisheye camera so that you can use it underwater.

While I did not test out the maximum depth they claim, it worked like a charm for me as deep as 20 feet in both fresh and salt water locations. I was even able to change rolls of film on the boat ride between snorkeling locations without any leaking issues. I highly recommend using the flash and the provided flash diffuser unless you are in a shallow pool on a bright sunny day. The light loss even with ISO 400 film was significant even a few feet under water in the area I was snorkeling in.

If you are going on vacation and looking for a fun camera that will confuse the lab techs and make all the locals ask "what is that?" than this is certainly a great purchase. I had a blast with this camera, and even though I shot over 900 frames on my D300, some of my favorite images from the trip were from this camera. It's just fun!

3.0 out of 5 stars Good Marine Case, September 27, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Lomography Fisheye Submarine Case (Clear/Red) (Electronics)
The marine case for the Lomo fisheye camera is perfect for basic flash and non flash pics underwater for single exposure. It is limited to single exposure pics but I think that's based on the camera design itself and less on the case. I have used this on a couple 90ft dives in Mexico (a little beyond its recommended specs of 65ft) and it performed just fine, no leaks or water damage. My wife and I also use this in the pool and any activity that might include "excessive water". My only request for future would be a good adjustable rubber strap and ability to use double exposure.
