I recieved my holga starter kit yesterday. Right away I loaded it and started snapping away! It's been fun to try out the different types of effects you may possiably get with the Holga. I probably won't get to see the results though...my two year old go to the camera and opened the back of it, exposing the film to light...hopefully I might get something from that roll. But now I need to find him a camera so he'll stop being jealous of mine...and so that people won't think I'm actually using his camera.
Anyways the kit is awesome and has what I believe, to be everything you need to start. It has the camera (duh...), one roll of film, batteries, tape, booklets about the Holga (I was reading in the review for another starter kit that they thought this book to be useless...when I thought it was maybe not necessary...but could point you to try cool things with your Holga). I'll update as I go on. But so far this is a five. Everything I expected came with the kit, and I'm hoping to get some awesome pics out of this camera! :)

I absolutely love this camera! I usually shoot with a Rebel xsi, but this is so fun for a change and I love the way the images look. :) I would totally recommend this for anyone who's thinking about getting it. Everything that came in the kit helps too. I love the book outlining what the Holga is all about and showing pictures from other people.

The Holga is a fun camera. If you have not had a chance to enjoy the capabilities of medium format pictures and the enlargement capabilities as well as that old time feeling of using film again, you are missing an excellent chance. Inexpensive, the Holga, tho not your professional level, still is a blast to use.

This is a delightful little plastic piece of crap capable of producing fantastically quirky shots--or complete crap. That's part of the fun!

This will NOT be replacing my digital camera (duh) but it is a bit of fun. Let me mention one thing...tape the back on! My first day playing with it, the back dropped off in the woods, ruining an entire roll of film. And it's interesting to me how much this made photography feel like playing...this is just for fun, right? It's hard to get used to the lack of control over the outcome, but that's also part of the excitement.

Have patience, if you are accustomed to the instant view on your digital camera or phone...part of the fun is you don't know what you captured until you take it in and get the film developed. Oh and don't forget to buy film. I can only find one store in my area to buy the film and it's not my usual camera shop...

I purchased the HOLGA for my son as a Christmas gift. He had a blast photographing the family during Christmas. I think this will be a great hobby for him as he is creative, artistic, and has an eye for photography. The only problem is I can't find anyone in the area who develops this type of film. Any help with this is greatly appreciated. Otherwise this is a great little product.

Camera works great for what it is. Everything came as described and in working order.
