4.0 out of 5 stars Great film
I used some of this film in my Holga for a college photography project and was very pleased with the results. Developed using the Sprint developer system, the resulting negatives were exactly what I hoped for.

2.0 out of 5 stars Some Nice Results, But Not Without Serious Problems, January 26, 2010
This review is from: Lomography Black & White 100 ISO Negative 120mm Film (3-Pack) (Electronics)
Purchased this three pack from Lomo's website (Amazon and elsewhere are cheaper). The first roll I shot had serious difficulty winding and the frame numbers are extremely difficult to see - even in good light. When loading the film on the spool for processing I noticed how flimsy it felt (verses Kodak film which is all I had processed at this point). Once I scanned the Lomo film I noticed a ton of scratches. This is in part due to my Lomo Diana F+ which seems to scratch about everything I've shot so far, but this roll was even worse. The resulting images where very contrasty and had a nice grain (maybe a little too much for 100). I liked the shots that turned out - some have an almost "vintage" or "classic" look to them.
The real issue I had is this - the other two rolls tore in the camera. After loading the film and advancing towards the first shot the paper backing ripped apart. This happened on one roll then on the other. I guess I could have attempted to use the film and advanced past the first shots - the fear of the whole roll having been exposed and potentially wasting time and losing images kept me from doing so.
Again the roll that turned out yielded some great contrasty and grainy images reminiscent of old school black and white photography. I am not buying any more of this film based the lack of frame number visibility and the fact that the other two rolls ripped apart in the camera.

I had two problems with this film when I used in conjunction with my DianaF+ that I don't have with other film providers: 1) The black backing makes it very difficult to see the frame number. It's easy to go past a frame, which wastes film. And 2) The film was difficult to wind. I don't know if that factor was the reason I had scratches on the developed film, but I suspect that it played a role.

1.0 out of 5 stars Repackaged film, March 25, 2010
This review is from: Lomography Black & White 100 ISO Negative 120mm Film (3-Pack) (Electronics)
This film is nothing more than repackaged, priced hiked film from a company called "Shanghai". Film sold by the Shanghai company sells for $2 a roll, so if you really want it, search ebay... That's about the only place to find it in America.

1.0 out of 5 stars This is Not "Lomography" Film, March 20, 2011
This review is from: Lomography Black & White 100 ISO Negative 120mm Film (3-Pack) (Electronics)
Like the review before stated this film is actually Shanghai film repackaged by Lomo and sold for a huge markup. The problem is this film has a lot of quirks that require a good amount of experience and knowledge of film photography, and this film is most definitely marketed towards people who are new to film. Its really just inviting people to get poor results and give up on film.

2.0 out of 5 stars Poor Assembly, May 18, 2010

I haven't developed this yet, but was not shooting in good conditions, so I'm going to give the benefit of the doubt that any exposure issues are my fault and not the film's. But the construction of the roll leaves a lot to be desired. The black paper and faint white ink has been mentioned by others. But I also found that the first roll of the three pack I loaded was assembled backwards, so protective paper faced the lens, and the film got exposed by my Holga's back window. After I trashed the useless roll, I noticed that the film also was out of sync with the numbering, so I would have lost at least a frame based on that. The stuff is cheap, but if you're counting on it, maybe something a little better put together is worthwhile.

I purchased this film in a three pack of Amazon. I used the first roll for my Holga (first time ever using my Holga) and it was super easy and my pictures came out pretty cool. I little fuzzy around the edges and a little dark, but I got a few really cool shots. Then I used the second roll for my Diana F+, which did not work well!!! It was extremely hard to wind and I thought I was going to break my camera! It was really hard to load and get the camera to close properly so I ended up wasting the first few frames. I dont know about everyone else, but this film worked well for my Holga, but not for my Diana.

i shot my first film and when i took it to be developed it got ruined because it cant be developed with c-41 chemical and not all stores have the chemical that is suitable for b&w film so be sure to ask around first. i shot my second film and will take it to a developer that is a little bit far away which is a inconvenience, we'll see how that works out
