2010 stand-alone single disc release that contains all the bonus tracks featured on the second disc of the Deluxe Edition release of this album (ie: does NOT contain the original album, only the rarities associated with that release). Perfect for collectors who may have missed the double disc version or for those who are in search of all the great tracks that were initially exclusive to the Deluxe Edition. It's not hard to see why the original album London Sessions is still among the most popular original albums in the much vaulted history of Chess Records. Not only does it present one of the label's most acclaimed and popular Blues legends performing essentially his greatest hits, it features members of the British Rock royalty (Eric Clapton, Stevie Winwood, Charlie Watts, Bill Wyman) giving one of their biggest influences his just due. This CD features new remixes from the original tapes, alternate mixes, rehearsal takes, extended jams, and more.

When the original album came out on I was there purchasing the 33rpm disk. It was great and I was a big clapton fan and loved the blues in general. Now that I have this album the picture is more complete and like the previous review it's important to get the more full historical perspective of the muscian greats playing with one of the key figures who influenced their development as artists.

Some nice cuts and outakes. Wolf was starting to fail and it is evident but the musicianship is top notch with nobody dominating the mix. Even Clapton lays back with tasteful work. History was made in those sessions and it is important to hear every lick...
