Marcus Printup plays straight ahead. The group is comprised of complementary sidemen. Everyone of them is an equal as they add their specific spice to the mix.This CD restores my faith, in that, Jazz is not dead. Although, I haven't heard new material by Marcus in years, there is no doubt, that he has honed his skills to a razor's edge. The solos are crisp and melodic. The sax player is an able soloist in his own right. If you are looking for all that was/is Jazz - London Lullaby - is the recording for you. A refreshing sojourn made up of standards and new material. Enjoy the ride! A definite keeper! |
