Great book made my trip more enjoyable,

This review is from: London Secrets: London Guidebook for the First Time Visitor (Paperback)
I have just returned from London. Thank goodness I purchased Wheeler's London guidebook. His tips on what to do before I left home, how to get from the airport and find places in London were invaluable. It was like having a well-traveled uncle giving me advice. I was particularly enjoyed his tips on afternoon tea. First time, or many time visitors to London will love this book.I often travel Asia but this is my first time to visit Europe, this book is great!!

Quick Lesson on London,
By A Customer
This review is from: London Secrets: London Guidebook for the First Time Visitor (Paperback)
Thomas Bruce Wheeler's London Secrets is a concise insiders view of a very large, potentially confusing city. It containsvertually everything the first-time visitor needs to plan a visit to London. At the same time, it contains tips that the experienced traveler will find useful. Overall, a valuable addition to the many guidebooks on London

Useless!,

This book is absolutely useless. I think it must have been self-published -- there are so many typos and grammatical errors. He mentions one guide by name at least twice, giving every piece of information needed to contact him, and reminding you that London is ahead of the U.S. in case you want to call the guide directly. Who is this guide -- his uncle or something? Do not waste your money on this book.

this is a nice little book! it's a great cut and dry, no frills guide for first timers. i have yet to go and test it out but i'll let you know as soon as i do. it gives you the tube station for most of the top attactions and other little hints and ideas too. from combating jet lag to how to get into the invite only ceremony of the keys at the tower of london. there's no pictures or maps so you need another guide book for that (i got the eyewitness guide to london which it wonderful in itself). this book is a couple of years old and i was leery of that but the infomation was worth it.
