5.0 out of 5 stars I was there when London was burning, October 4, 2008
This review is from: London's Burning (Ballantine's Illustrated History of World War II, Battle Book No. 17) (Paperback)
This small book is illustrated with photographs that are graphic and accurate of the bombing of London. I spent this period, first as a young civilian, working in London and spending nights in an air raid shelter with my mother and sister. I enlisted in the Army and served in the 1st Radar Regiment, Royal Artillery as a Height Finder Operator.
The book gives an excellent, concise picture of how we endured and survived years of warfare, bombings, and loss of family, friends and loved ones. I recommend this book to history buffs and others seeking to understand the Battle of Britain.
