This is an excellent colection of essays by various authers about the causes of why Texas joined the Confederacy, the effects of Texas in the Confederacy and engaging in battles against the Union, and some of the aftermath and consequences felt by Texas after the Civil War. There are many causes and reasons of why Texas decided to secede from the Union, from the slavery issues to the questions of individual states rights. The book also informs readers about the various regiments from Texas and the battles they fought in throught the Civil War. The essays in the book also informs about a number of Texans who were pro-union and fought and died for the USA. The essays are well written by various authors and the editors are to be commended for their effort. Recommended!
