Editorial Reviews

Product Description

The Lonely Bears may be the best group you never heard of. Yet, the players in the band are well known within their musical domains. Each has accomplished numerous notable achievements in their respective careers. The music which they have created as The Lonely Bears is artistically innovative and stimulating to both mind and body.

Tony Coe's sax work is just amazing...his tone is beautiful, whether he is playing it cool, warm, or hot. Hugh Burns guitar lines are one moment lyrical and at another cutting, angular, raw. Terry Bozzio's drumming is quite dynamic and powerful. Tony Hymas' keyboard textures are spectacular, a balance between jazz, rock, and classical.

playful and serious, subtle and overt, warm and cool, by far one of the best things I've heard this year -- Stephanie Sollow, Progressive World, September 1999

Being a huge Terry Bozzio fan and a drummer, I just had to buy this album. When I listened to the album for the first time, I was just amazed. This album contains some of the greatest musicians and music ever! Really, listen to to it. You'd surely like this album if your a fan of: Progressive Rock, Jazz Fusion, or the great Frank Zappa.

Also if you enjoy this album, be sure to get their other two albums, which are just as good, maybe better.

Terry Bozzio is of course the soul of this album, but he's not everything there is to hear, there's also great saxofone and groovy sounds: makes me feel myself a bit abanded. This is the album for a lonely man living in small village beside mountains and forest in a small cottage with hifi-stereos and electricity.
