Sore in need was I of a faithful friend, And it seemed to me that life Had come to its much desired end-- Just then God gave me a wife.

Very nice romantic poetry,

This review is from: The Lonely Dancer and Other Poems (Kindle Edition)
I like this book a lot, though it's very short and has mostly very short poems- one has only 15 words. Most of the poems are about love and nature, only rarely does Le Gallienne get philosophical, like in The Mystic Friends. Most of the poems have an obvious rhyming pattern, like ABAB. Sometimes the rhythms are loose, meaning that one line will have a few extra syllables for no apparent reason which throws the rhythm off. The poems are formatted in paragraphs rather than in lines, which I don't like, but I think that's because the people who make these free books seldom want to spend any time making them look good and easy to read.
