Everyone Should Own This,
By Brandon Hagen (Arlington, Wa) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lonely for the Last Time (Audio CD)
Where to start with such a talented band? "Lonely for the Last Time" is amazing album from start to finish. Seven Places deliver an energetic dose of powerful melodic pop rock. Everytime I listen to this I can't help but wonder where they came up with so many awesome guitar riffs. Every song is completely loaded with them, and by no means is it overkill either. The rest of the band doesn't let the guitars steal the show, the bass and drumming add the punch which propel the songs.
There are just as many vocal hooks and awesome choruses to compliment the rest of the music, without being too poppy. The main singer has a very clear and melodic voice, his voice fits the music perfectly. His vocal range makes every song liable to get stuck in your head for days. The lyrics just spill over this band's love for God. I would describe this album as a love cd to God, the band's exuberence for God is undeniable. This album takes praise and injects new life into the meaning, much like BEC labelmate Jeremy Camp did with his 2002 release "Stay." Seven Places succeeds where many worship/praise acts fall flat or cliché. The lyrics don't always sound like "I've heard that phrase a hundred times before." Everytime I listen to this cd it makes me extremely happy that I know God. I can't say that for too many albums, the joy in this album is infectious. Every Christian should own this cd, no questions asked. In my opinion this release was hands down the best Christian cd released in 2003, and right now Seven Places is one of the most promising new bands out there right now. BEC basically just re-released the cd with slightly different cover art and two extra songs. Highly recommended for fans of Jeremy Camp, Telecast, Everyday Sunday, Switchfoot, and Sanctus Real. This will brighten your day for sure!

BEST ALBUM OF 2003!!!,
By Michael A. (Houston, TX) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lonely for the Last Time (Audio CD)
First of all, let me say that there are some great Christian rock bands out there...Switchfoot, By The Tree, Jars of Clay, etc. Only one word comes to mind comparing SEVEN PLACES to all those bands...AWESOME! From the moment I heard "Everything" I was hooked. Like some guy who reviewed this before me said, there is not one bad song on this CD! It's AMAZING to hear a Christian rock band singing and playing passioniately about knowing Jesus Christ and sounding so modern and cool! Last year, my best album award went to Jeremy Camp for Stay. This year, without a doubt, the award will go to SEVEN PLACES. These guys will be around for awhile. They are playing Festival Con Dios this year. Please people...go support the band and buy this album. It is sooooooo good! One more note...anything produced by Aaron Sprinkle or Brandon Ebel is worth checking out. They know what they are doing.

Lonely for the Last Time,
By A Customer
This review is from: Lonely for the Last Time (Audio CD)
This album is an inspiring work of art. It is filled with love songs that can be sung to someone you care about, or as worship to God. The lyrics are moving and touch the heart in a way that many artists are unable to do.
