Everyone Should Own This,
By Brandon Hagen (Arlington, Wa) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Lonely for the Last Time (Audio CD)
Where to start with such a talented band? "Lonely for the Last Time" is amazing album from start to finish. Seven Places deliver an energetic dose of powerful melodic pop rock. Everytime I listen to this I can't help but wonder where they came up with so many awesome guitar riffs. Every song is completely loaded with them, and by no means is it overkill either. The rest of the band doesn't let the guitars steal the show, the bass and drumming add the punch which propel the songs. There are just as many vocal hooks and awesome choruses to compliment the rest of the music, without being too poppy. The main singer has a very clear and melodic voice, his voice fits the music perfectly. His vocal range makes every song liable to get stuck in your head for days. The lyrics just spill over this band's love for God. I would describe this album as a love cd to God, the band's exuberence for God is undeniable. This album takes praise and injects new life into the meaning, much like BEC labelmate Jeremy Camp did with his 2002 release "Stay." Seven Places succeeds where many worship/praise acts fall flat or cliché. The lyrics don't always sound like "I've heard that phrase a hundred times before." Everytime I listen to this cd it makes me extremely happy that I know God. I can't say that for too many albums, the joy in this album is infectious. Every Christian should own this cd, no questions asked. In my opinion this release was hands down the best Christian cd released in 2003, and right now Seven Places is one of the most promising new bands out there right now. BEC basically just re-released the cd with slightly different cover art and two extra songs. Highly recommended for fans of Jeremy Camp, Telecast, Everyday Sunday, Switchfoot, and Sanctus Real. This will brighten your day for sure!

BEST ALBUM OF 2003!!!,

First of all, let me say that there are some great Christian rock bands out there...Switchfoot, By The Tree, Jars of Clay, etc. Only one word comes to mind comparing SEVEN PLACES to all those bands...AWESOME! From the moment I heard "Everything" I was hooked. Like some guy who reviewed this before me said, there is not one bad song on this CD! It's AMAZING to hear a Christian rock band singing and playing passioniately about knowing Jesus Christ and sounding so modern and cool! Last year, my best album award went to Jeremy Camp for Stay. This year, without a doubt, the award will go to SEVEN PLACES. These guys will be around for awhile. They are playing Festival Con Dios this year. Please people...go support the band and buy this album. It is sooooooo good! One more note...anything produced by Aaron Sprinkle or Brandon Ebel is worth checking out. They know what they are doing.

This album is an inspiring work of art. It is filled with love songs that can be sung to someone you care about, or as worship to God. The lyrics are moving and touch the heart in a way that many artists are unable to do.

Seven Places is an AMAZING band. I got to see them live, and their heart for God is out of this world. They are really on fire for the Lord, and their music shows it.Songs like "Landslide," "It Might Be Today," and "Yours" will get anyone's head banging and feet moving. Espeically Landslide! I love that song. It's too short though... Anyway, songs like "Everything" are awesome worship songs that display the band's passion for Christ. Kids, teens (like myself), and adults will all enjoy this album. Seven Places is gonna impact the Christian music industry like they already have.

I first heard Seven Places on Radio U (Christian radio). I thought my middle school daughters would like them, so I bought them this CD for Christmas. They haven't stopped listening to it since! They know every word of every song and especially like "Landslide" and "It Might Be Today." I love listening to it, too. This is a great rock CD for kids AND their baby boomer parents. I hope this is just the first of many CDs from this band.

My sister first turned me on to Seven Places when they were still just a local church band at Applegate in Southern Oregon. At that time they had locally produced several CDs and they really rocked. I am so glad to see a bunch of young men who love Jesus get on a big label and have their music and message heard by the masses. Find their earlier CDs if you can. "Free" is my favorite.

I first heard of them when they opened for Kutless. I was pumped for Kutless, but Seven Places captured my attention. This is a solid CD, and I can listen to it from front to back without skipping a track. Listen to the last track and try not to get choked up. Great CD.

i helped chaperone the youth group from my church to acquire the fire, and seven places was there the second day. wow, i was completely blown away at the energy they had. they were by far the best live band i have ever seen. so after i came home, i checked out the cd. and i was completely blown away again. "Awakening" is just incredible. it almost brought tears to my eyes the first couple of times i listened to it. This song should be the theme song for "The Passion of the Christ". pick up this cd, you will not be disappointed.

I forget how I stumbled upon Seven Places but after a few quick samples here at Amazon I was hooked. This cd for one is an awesome mix of slow songs and upbeat ones. The vocals are nothing like any of the other Christian Contemporary or Rock groups out there. Vocals are not too syrupy as in Anberlin or even Holland, while not as gravelly as Todd Agnew or Jeremy Camp. There is an upbeat style as in Switchfoot or Sanctus Real that really gives this band their flavor. Ever since buying this CD it has not been out of reach, I even burned myself another copy to keep in the car because I got sick of taking it back and forth. With their bright choruses and upbeat lyrics this is a great addition to any music collection.
