Contained everything I needed to know for a one-week jaunt in Sin City. Where to stay, where to eat, where to gamble and what shows to see. Lonely Planet never disappoints!

My daughter gave this book to my son, who is making his first trip to Vegas. He has not put the book down! This is a wonderful resource for visitors. (as are most Lonely Planet guides)

I was going to Vegas on business. I had not been there in several years and wanted a good guidebook with recommendations on restaurants and shows. I ordered two books based on customer reviews on the Amazon web site. This book had two 5-star rave reviews. I did not notice that the reviews were actually for a different book and from 2007. I was disappointed when I got the book. The reviews in the book could have been written by the providers themselves and were comparable to what one finds in a typical free city guide. In fact, I picked up a free city guide somewhere in Vegas that I found much more useful with better maps and more current information than this book. I also bought the Unofficial Guide to Las Vegas. That book was exactly what I was looking for - extremely comprehensive, up-to-date, and very useful tips on how to spend my time and money wisely.
In short, this book although professionally done, did not provide the advice that I was looking for. Also, be aware that the two 5-star reviews are for a different book that I did not purchase or review.
