For the everyday traveller, I find the Lonley Planet guides as good as anything else on the market. This book is no exception. Covers all topics I require for basic travel information in a foreign country, maps, accommodation options, itinerary suggestions. I look foward to our few days at Yellowstone.

This is a good companion book to explore Yellowstone. But do keep in mind that the Tetons and Yellowstone NPs are so big, no guide will be extensive enough to cover all the parts of the parks and related activities. This lonely planet guide is a good way to get some pointers and help you out to plan your trip, giving you the highlights of the parks, but you will certainly need topo maps, or some hiking guides should you need to explore a particular area in depth. Nonetheless, this book is well written and does what it's supposed to do, i.e. orient you and give you an idea of what is out there for you to see. Should you need more specific info, just use the guide as a starting point and google up the rest (or buy another more specific books that pertains to driving or hiking or whatever you want to do in these parks).

I bought this book and several others in preparation for traveling to Yellowstone this summer. Now that we're back from our trip, my husband and I were in agreement that this book was spot on. Great tips and perfect descriptions. Highly recommended reading if you are planning a trip to Yellowstone!

I had this book with me on my trip to Yellowstone and it didn't help me at all. 5 minute search on Internet gave much better orientation than 200+ pages of this book.

Lonely Planet guides are great. This is a really useful book. I was pleased with it and with the seller's prompt service.
