"I walked beside Triss and Logan as they worked together to uncover the pieces to the puzzle and by the end of the story.....well, let's just say that another 5 Book worthy installment to this series can not come fast enough for me. I want to see more of the supernatural and Logan and Triss! Great job, Ms. Bolton, and you have a forever fan in me!" -
"With it's enchanting characters, nicely-written story, and crazy intense ending, I found Lonely Souls to be a very enjoyable story. I'm going to be anxiously waiting for the next book in the series!" - Andrea@ The BookishBabe
"Lonely Souls is one of the most richly intriguing and darkly alluring novels that I've personally read in the last six months." - A Soul Unsung blog, Book Gossip for the Soul
"Logan was...well...completely "swoon-worthy" as they say.  He was utterly dependable, understanding and thoughtful--exactly what Triss needed in her current dilemma.  I loved his character as well...and I have to admit that I've always been a fan of the romance developing between longtime childhood friends angle." - Melissa's Eclectic Bookshelf

4.0 out of 5 stars Loney Souls July 7, 2012

Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
Yet another amazing book by Karice Bolton. I just loved Lonely Souls. It was a book about more than just witchcraft. Lonely Souls had a good strong plot filled with characters who you can't help but like. I enjoyed reading about Triss and Logan. Yeah total swoonage going on over here. I am not sure how Karice does it really. How she can create such a perfect pair, who support each other and make the other one complete. She writes with such vision and colour that you can't help but be sucked in. I honestly couldn't put it down.

First off we have Triss, a girl who is struggling with the loss of her mother and the return of her long ago friend Logan. I found Triss kind of complex. She was not one dimensional like so many other characters I read about. I found that she seemed to not know who she is. She is unsure of herself and her feelings. Sure she likes the healing part of the craft but in the other areas she is lacking. Not that that is a bad thing, in no way do I mean that at all. I liked being right with her while Logan was teaching her how to defend herself. I found it added that special something between the two of them. That he was taking care of his girl. She has feelings for Logan, but she is not sure she can give him what he needs. I respect that she didn't lead him on. I like that she wanted to be 100% sure of something before she jumped in, not many MC's do that. Triss is just a sweet girl who has been thrown into a mess that with the help of Logan she just might make it through.

Logan on the other hand, has seen the darker side of magic. I honestly believe that Triss is the light to his darkness. He has lived a rough life after leaving Triss and moving away.

4.0 out of 5 stars Spooky Paranormal YA Romance November 28, 2012
Format:Kindle Edition
Lonely souls is a spooky paranormal romance that I was caught up in from the first chapter. When Triss's mother goes missing and her coven holds a memorial service for her instead of trying to find out what happened, Triss must find the answers for herself and begins a journey of unlocking dark family secrets with the help of her childhood friend Logan.

There is lots of buildup in the relationship between Logan and Triss, I loved how so much of the novel was devoted to the love story and not just the paranormal mystery. The characters are well-developed and likeable. Triss has an internal battle going on between her increasing feelings for Logan and the priority of finding out what happened to her mom.

The descriptions are well done and make you feel, smell, and picture each and every scene in the book. The only slightly negative comment I have is that after the first couple chapters the pace of the book drops off a bit doesn't pick up again until the halfway point, but the intensity of the last couple chapters definitely make up for this. I highly recommend this book for any young adult romance or paranormal reader! Oh, and I loved the cover and how it related to an actual scene in the book!

5.0 out of 5 stars Another Great Series from Bolton! July 23, 2012
Originally Reviewed At: Mother/Gamer/Writer

Lonely Souls is a new series that is written by a much loved author, Karice Bolton. Her tone of writing has quickly become a personal favorite as she creates these wonderfully imagined urban fantasies for her readers to lose themselves in. Please join me as I dive into Lonely Souls, the beginning of what I expect to be unlike any other.

Tris is a young woman about to embark on a new adventure; she is of age to become a full member of the local coven of witches. Right before the lavish event can take place, Tris' mother disappears without a trace. While the police haven't closed the case, a shocked Tris must watch as the coven declares her dead. But she knows deep in heart and soul that she is still alive.

Slowly clues start to arise, and with the help of a deliciously handsome old childhood friend, they begin to form a much larger picture. One that leads to her mother being kidnapped. But they won't stop there, no, they want Tris too.Between grieving for the loss of her mother, and trying to find out why, Tris may discover more than her heart can handle. While she builds walls to protect her fragile heart, Logan desperately attempts to win her over. If he fails she may become a lonely soul, forced to wander for eternity alone.

It's not a big secret that I quickly became a fan of Karice Bolton when I first got to read her Watchers Trilogy. Yet this series is taking on a different paranormal angle. When any author does this, it can leave a lot of room for speculation. This is especially true when you make a jump from fallen angels to witchcraft. But in my humble opinion, she hit the nail on the head with this excellent beginning to a series that I will be sure to follow.
