5.0 out of 5 stars its amazing what you can do with two guitars and a suitcase
I first saw these two play with Heather Rae and the Moonshine Boys at the Hole in the Wall in Austin, during SXSW, and NOBODY was there. My first impression was "my god, she is SMOKIN' HOT" and then immediately thereafter I realized I had stumbled onto two of the most talented musicians I've seen in a while. The other night, I had the pleasure of seeing them again at the...

3.0 out of 5 stars Flash guitar, not a lot else
I am a firm believer in the potential of music like this. Independent minded folks taking roots music to a personal place and doing it with integrity. In this case I was disappointed. The guitar playing, while very impressive, is not that unique or far-reaching. The vocals just left me cold. I seem to be in the minority on this one from reading the other reviews, but she...

The other night, I had the pleasure of seeing them again at the Continental Club in Austin opening for Unknown Hinson, and the improved sound (and the fact that I wasnt already plastered before seeing them) really showcased the talent of Danny B Harvey's stunning rockabilly-tainted guitar, and Lynda Kay's boundless energy (constantly pounding on that Samsonite suitcase kickdrum) and stunning voice. If you like traditional country and rockabilly, this is a must-have.

This is quite exciting traditional country. The singing is quite excellent as is the guitar playing. However the production is not great by today's standards. This group deserves a better recording.

i first heard these two on samantha murphy's SMtv internet pod cast and immediately had to go to amazon to buy the city. i real mix of tradition western swing sounds with gritty lyrics. not to say lynda's voice is anything but smooth as silk. take a leep and pick this cd up, i don't think you will be sorry.

The guitar playing, while very impressive, is not that unique or far-reaching. The vocals just left me cold. I seem to be in the minority on this one from reading the other reviews, but she doesn't communicate much to me. Other than the guitarist's chops nothing in this music stands out from the pack for me. Oh...I really like the name!
