Jason's music happens to be the kind of music that will hit you at just the right time, no matter when it is, to affect how you see the world a little bit. His music talks about unrequited love often, as well as the passionate drive to make an impact on the world. He has a way to tell his stories from a unique point of view, and has many great thoughts woven into his lyrics and music. I especially love one of the passages in his first song on this album "Moving On" where he says "I forget sometimes that we have the sinners to thank for the Saints".
He has a subtle and excellent hand on the guitar and a voice that brings out his story telling. His song writing keeps the reality of his story a mystery, which allows listeners to fill in the gaps with their own world of thought. Each song has the ability to become thematic for the listener, touching on truths of life in a way that inspires the listener to smile or pine whistfully for something in their own life that may be missing or wonderful.
If you have the opportunity to hear him live, he is one of those musicians who plays as well live as in studio. However, live, he has the ability to connect to his audience, and is both dynamic and interesting in his delivery. Take a listen to his music when you come across it, you will enjoy it and wonder, as I have, why we don't hear him on the radio.
