Ship of Dreams,
By
This review is from: Long Dream About Swimming Across the Sea (Dig) (Audio CD)
Tyler Ramsey scoops you up in that long dream and takes you on a sensitive, honest, introspective trip with him, across the sea.I was moved by this C/D 'cause I had no pre-conceptions about it and was rewarded by what I feel is a unique, fresh talent. Not to worry about a category fit. That only happens when an artist targets an audience. None of that here. Aside from his obvious instrumental talent and fresh writing skills, I hear a little Neil Young in there trying to get out. How nice. I suspect that maturity and experience will bring us more soulfull and sensitive music in the future. Looking forward to it. Finally, I say the tide came in, big time, with "No One Goes Out Anymore". Slow, dreamy and from way inside. And then the wind immediately freshens and sets sails full of anticipation with "Birdwings". Nice sequencing here. My suggestion is that you sign-on with this voyager, not to fear, for this ship floats all dreams.

His Best for Far,
By
This review is from: Long Dream About Swimming Across the Sea (Dig) (Audio CD)
This is Tyler Ramsey's third CD, and his best so far. Ramsey has a personal indie voice, great musicianship, with deep roots in jazz and folk. Although there are 12 tracks listed, keep listening, as there is a secret 13th track that takes you back into the "long dream."

This is a terrific disc - makes my list of the best of the last decade. Great song writing and guitar playing. The recording really shines on high end audio equipment but it sounds great in the car too. Guaranteed to grow on you.
