Book Description

April 1, 1999
THE LAST THING RITA NEEDED WAS TROUBLE….

Spitfire Rita Warren had made some big mistakes before leaving her hometown and heading for the bright lights of the big city. Now she was back, to make things right. To prove that she was as good as everyone else in town. Good enough to love. Good enough to deserve the best…

LIEUTENANT "MAC" McGRAW HAD TROUBLE WRITTEN ALL OVER HIM!

Though the sexy officer was ornerier than a bee-stung bear, Rita could see right through the bluster to the man underneath—a soldier tormented by memories. But McGraw was too good a man to bury himself with guilt. Too good a man to deny himself a family. And Rita was the woman to prove to him the best was yet to come….

5.0 out of 5 stars An absolute-no-doubt-about-it keeper, April 12, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Long Way Home (Silhouette Special Edition, 1245) (Paperback)
Wonderful story about redemption, strength and love in a 250 page book. "Ready" Rita is a gritty, mouthy, long-legged former Las Vegas showgirl with a very dark and complicated past. But she's back home again to make things right and along the way she meets a wounded, troubled soldier who needs Rita more than he or she realizes. Rita is a one in a million character. Readers tired of simpering, shy vestal virgins better hold on to their hats, cause Rita is definitely not. A realistic plot that has great heart and suprising depth. This is a great book. Sequel to LITTLE DARLING, Reavis' previous SSE. Loved it.

Rita has made some big mistakes -- Trace her story as she tries to change and settle those mistakes.

Lieutenant "Mac" McGraw was in a lot of pain - but what could be done?

Rita could see through the bluster to the man underneath -- a soldier tormented by memories. But McGraw was not going to bury himself under guilt and deny himself a family. Was Rita the one to help him?

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED --M -- add this one to your list to read.

I loved this book....it is definately a "keeper". It is extremely well written....I couldn't put it down. The characters and story are fantastic and very hard to let go of...I wished it had been longer. Also, the ending is incredibly wonderful!!
