This book, basically a pictorial, is truly a window into the past of this great and once thriving commerce center. If you are or were a resident of LIC, you'll be surprised by its rich and beautiful past. I think this book is also excellent for any new residents to the area as they will learn what a historical landmark Long Island City is. You also will get the feel of how the industrialization of Queens transformed this small communities tranquil settings into a concerte jungle of factories and warehouses. This book brings great memories of my childhood back to me.
