Book Description

August 7, 2008
Jefferson Austin Bonham, or Ty to his few friends, is perfectly content with his life. He has a decent business, a flamboyant male assistant, and a sterile, stripped down apartment. Ty has built himself the kind of life people have always envisioned for him, pushing down his teenage desire to become an artist. He thinks it suits him, has convinced himself that's what he wants. That he has all he needs. It works just fine until a blast from the past breezes in his door, wanting to hire him as an image consultant. Abe is all bad boy, just like he was back in college, needling Ty until he's ready to kiss the man or kill him, one of the two. They fight as hard as they did when they were boys together, but the attraction between them is just as strong as the animosity. Together they start to rebuild Abe's image, renovate old buildings, and realize that sometimes what people expect them to be is not what they want in life. Can Abe convince Ty that there's more to life than black clothes and chrome furniture? And will their past be willing to let go long enough for them to have a future?

More About the Author

I enjoy indulging in the shallow side of life, with hobbies that include collecting margarita recipes, hot tub dips, and ogling hot guys at the beach. A connoisseur of the perverse and esoteric, my days are spent among dusty tomes of ancient knowledge, or, conversely, surfing porn sites in the name of research. Mixing the natural born southern propensity for sarcasm and the environmental western straight-shooting sensibility, I do my damnedest to produce mainstream fiction, literary erotica, and fine works of pure, unadulterated smut.

With characters ranging from supernatural demons to modern-day cowboys, alternative illustrated men to Victorian dandies, the addiction to history and atmosphere is everpresent, and laced through with sensual pleasure. my latest projects include werewolves, rodeo cowboys, and fistfighting rednecks.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Long Road Home, January 6, 2008
This review is from: The Long Road Home (Paperback)
Image Consultant Jefferson Bonham, Ty to his friends, barely made it to his office on time to meet his new client Abraham Lyons, who looked familiar, moments later he recognized Abe as his older sister's former boyfriend. Abe was referred to Ty to get a makeover; Abe has a company renovating old buildings, and must improve his social representation. Sparks fly between Ty and Abe instantaneously, Abe refuses to have a complete alteration, and Ty rebuffs Abe's use of his childhood nickname Tiny. But the magnetism is too strong for them to overpower. Ty is not aware of the crush Abe had years ago, or that Abe dated Ty's sister just to be close to him.

The Long Road Home is a hilarious account of the efforts to build a profession and a relationship. Ty's does not have sufficient clients to maintain his operating expenses, but is too stubborn to ask Abe for assistance. Abe is devoted to Ty and would like to share a life with him. BA Tortuga demonstrates a work of genius with sizzling erotic scenes and delicious food menus that will have your mouth watering. The dialogue is designed to generate gales of laughter. This is an amusing and enjoyable romance illustrating home is where the heart is.

1.0 out of 5 stars Boring and ridiculous, March 10, 2010
By
Tony Philpott (Sydney, NSW Australia) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
This review is from: The Long Road Home (Paperback)
Reading this book is like watching a 60's soft core porn film with dialogue up to a similar standard...
The book starts of well with the men having to overcome prejudices and misconception about each other from their past, but and soon as they do this then the books consists of no more than descriptions of sex every second page.... Both men are businessmen....I'm not sure how they managed to run their firm as they never seemed to make it past the bedroom door....wake up have sex...take a shower..have sex...eat breakfast...lets have a quickie before we leave...honestly these men would have been so exhausted and sore they would not have been able to move let alone function in a professional capacity.
About half way through this book I gave up because it just became to boring...the dialogue is so trite its apalling...
"yeah...so good..your so fine Ty...yeah, yeah....its enough to make you shudder its so corny...I bought three books by this author....made it through the first...won't even open the third....
If you like a book with descriptions of sex frequently and a lot of panting dialogue then this is the book for you...If you want something that has fully fleshed out characters, a good story and characters with thoughts and emotions that are broader than their shoulders or their well muscled thighs then give this a miss
