Fred Sanders in Memphis, October 20, 2004

On a recent trip to Memphis my wife and I stopped by a downtown park to listen to a live blues band who had set up their equipment on a purpose built stage and had justed to play. We didn't know any of the players but the band was good, so good that we bought a CD from one of the 'roadies'. The main guitar/vocalist was Fred Sanders (his face is on the cover) and his CD was "Long Time Comin" I didn't recognise any other band members so this might be a solo album.
I didn't hold out much hope for the quality of the CD, and to be honest, I just wanted to support a local band.
To say I was suprised would be putting it mildly. The first track "I got a feeling" starts the CD with a thump and it continues thoughout the album. Good mix of fast-slow blues, a good many tracks written by or co-writen by Fred himself.
Buy the album, you won't be dissapointed.
