5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Recording
It's nice to know that Alessi's Long Time Friends Album is available on CD. The songs were very well produced, specially "As Far As I'm Concerned" and "I am Gonna Tell Her Tonight". Great vocalist Patty Austin guested on "What a Way To Go" Billy and Bobby Alessi are now running a successiful jingle ad company. Hope someday they return to...

3.0 out of 5 stars Barnaby Bye
The songs are about the same style as the Barnaby Bye LP/CD I have.I like the softer sounding songs from them. Can't say I have a favorite. The CD is good for back ground music. Why did this group take so long to get there LP's on CD? Like my 7th grade teacher Miss Knoppel would say "Better Late Than,Never".

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Surprise, November 10, 1999
This review is from: Long Time Friends (Audio CD)
It was a good surprise to know about this release cause the twins were really good guys, their happy songs and beauty ballads bring my mind and heart back to the good times on seventies. I got a feelin this album was their best work, but I would like to hear again the others "All for a Reason", "Driftin" and "Word and Music" albuns, cause All for a Reason, London, Wait for Me, Sad Songs, Farewell, Gimme Some Lovin, As Long as I Still Have You and so many others, are songs that cannot be forgotten. So, we are waiting for the others releases, and if it's cannot be so, a very fine "Best of" with 20(at least) of their best, would be good to begin, what are you waiting for ?

The Alessi brothers have always had a unique sound. Their interpretations of the songs are distinctly their own. No different with this album. They've done alot of jingle work over recent years, and you can hear that mindset in their more recent work. You can find CDs and updates at "alessibros.com."

This is the alessi bros best. this power pop album is wonderful. I've been waiting and searching a long time for this CD. "as far as I'm Concerned" Jagged Edge just great. Recorded and produced wonderfully. Must have for all true music fans of good songwriting, harmonies and melodies.

Exellent harmony from the Alessi Brothers. This collection of songs is the last in a string of catchy, tuneful records the brothers produced in the 1970's/1980's.Rainbows go on forever from the Driftin' album is an outstanding track amongst many fine self penned numbers they produced in their music career Anyone with a penchant for harmony music should check their Records/cds out.

5.0 out of 5 stars An Album Worthwhile Having, May 23, 2000
This review is from: Long Time Friends (Audio CD)
Undisputably, the Alessi Brothers' finest album. Music afficianados of the late 70's and early 80's will attest that all the tracks are catchy, particularly favourites like "Jagged Edge" and the haunting title track, "Long Time Friends"

It's somewhat surprising that its availability on CD is a recent "phenomenon", despite the huge popularity it enjoyed 20 years ago.

Living now in Portugal ( I'm from São Paulo-Brasil),I've been searching for this CD since 1995. I found it through a store called Fnac ( Lisbon) but just by order from Japan, so I bought "Long Time Friends" and I'm waiting for " The Best of ". If someone can help me,please contact me.

Although probably the best produced (Christopher Cross) album, there is a sense of loosing some of the innocence, naivety of the previous albums. Songs are very good, well produced but obviously more commercial, more "going-with-the times" sound. A very good record after all but I am still in love with songs like Oh Lori, All for a Reason etc. Not a popular group in Europe (except for their only top 40 Oh Lori) and difficult to find in music stores (even those days). But one of my favourites as they were simply good musicians and their songs were just ideal.
