Nikolai Kondratieff is the father of the long wave economic cycle. He suggested that during a period of 50 years there would be 1. A decade of depression 2. 30 years of technical innovation 3. 10 years of economic uncertainty, as growth forces with the past subside. Kondratieff came to believe in the 54 year cycle. His major work, published in 1925, forms the core of the present book. His charge had been redrawn to conform to the originals of the Russian edition. Kondratieff's statistical tables are included in their entirety. The Long Wave Cycle Is the first translation from the original Russian text to appear in the world.
