5.0 out of 5 stars A CD I loved at first listen and second, and third, and.....
This CD begins as perfect Sunday morning jazz - bright, clear, and complex, and beautifully fades to night . Eade's voice is luxurious yet clear, complex but not complicated, fresh and new yet skilled and mature. There is nothing "easy" here and there is nothing effected or pretentious. 5.0 out of 5 stars Best Jazz Vocal Cd Amongst Current Crop Of The New Releases, June 12, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Long Way Home (Audio CD)
With all due respect to Ms. Krall,Ms. Wilson, and Mr. Connick, this is the best jazz vocal cd around today. "Traveling Miles" is a major disappointment on the behalf on Cassandra Wilson because she is not expanding on her talents. Besides, who needs another jazz tribute set? Ms. Krall and Mr. Connick sound fine on their new cd's but the material on each cd could been better selected to suit their talents. Meanwhile, Ms. Eade is sounding better than ever and the choice of songs is excellent.

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the most beautiful voice I know, June 17, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Long Way Home (Audio CD)
All of Dominique cd's are just wonderful, in the past few years she as become one of my favorite jazz singer.
Some of the bad reviews given to Dominique cds are unfair, most probably written by people not having done well as students of Dominique. This particular cd is as good as anything she has done if not even better.
Her voice has great beauty and maturity, and although her style as always be on the cool side of jazz, she is a great story teller too. Highly recommended
Dominique we are waiting for a new cd.

2.0 out of 5 stars Is it ethical?, January 2, 2001

This review is from: Long Way Home (Audio CD)
Dominique is a vocalist and music teacher. After having read her quote in the New York Times, putting down an up and coming young musician, I would find it difficult to enjoy her album. It seems to me that she is a very unethical music teacher.
