4.0 out of 5 stars Britny Fox Returns With A Vengeance, February 7, 2001

I have always loved Britny Fox ever since I saw them live with Poison in '88. I thought Britny Fox was done when Original singer "Dizzy" Dean Davidson left. Boy was I wrong. Their third cd Bite Down Hard is my fav cd of theirs. New singer Tommy Paris is awesome. Long Way to Live is a must have for Britny Fox Fans. Most of the material is from Bite Down Hard, but three of the early gems snuck in, along with one soundtrack song (Turn On). What is cool is that for track 2 they make you think they are playing Rock Revolution, then bust into Long Way To Love. Tommy does a good job with Dean's vocal parts live. Only reason it did not rate 5 stars is the lack of material from Britny Fox & Boys in Heat. A MUST HAVE CD....LONG WAY TO LIVE....LONG LIVE BRITNY FOX!!!

5.0 out of 5 stars The Fox is Back to Rox, March 17, 2001

Long way to live....How about a long wait for a great live cd? The die hard 80's hair bands fans waited long enuff for a great cd to come along and this is it!!!! Lead guitarest (and under rated) Michael Kelly Smith has never been sharper and his axes grinds some serious licks. To bad this wasn't a double live disc. If you miss this Fox then you will miss alot. Check it out so the band can produce more kick a#$ cds for 10 more years. Long live Britny Fox and the Hair band Fans.

4.0 out of 5 stars Britny Fox - 'Long Way To Live' (Spitfire), May 1, 2009
This review is from: Long Way to Live (Audio CD)
Recorded during the band's 2000 reunion. I'll give this live release a four-star rating because it sounds really good. I mean, their second vocalist / front-man Tommy Paris is good - but they REALLY need to get Dizzy Dean Davidson back. Just three thracks from their first two Davidson-era lp's period - "Long Way To Go", "Dream On" and the *ss-kicking "Girlschool". Couple of other scorchers were "Black And White", the awesome "Louder" and "Turn On". Heard that these days, their back out on the road with bassist Billy Childs as the sole original member. I mean - come on now - really.

This is a truly excellent cd. I normally dont like live cd's that much, but the playing and sound quality on this one are absolutley superb. The energy that comes across in the band's performance is incredible. I will for sure see these guys if they come to my area!

5.0 out of 5 stars Better Than You Think, April 26, 2002

This review is from: Long Way to Live (Audio CD)
Britny Fox has long been known as one of the many "hair bands" of the 1980's metal scene. But unlike a lot of the other "hair bands," which is a phrase I absolutely hate, Britny Fox never had a top smashing ballad or an inescapable tune that consumed you no matter where you turned. Britny Fox was not a monstrous hair band, but this album makes me wonder just why not.
Sadly, my years on this Earth are too few to really recall the wonder that was the 80's as well as I'd like to. But this album really does rock like no band today can. I like music that's a tad old for my age, but I like music that rocks appropriately and doesn't treat the fans like we're stupid. I like rock and roll that makes me feel good about me and forget all the down sounding moans of the grunge genre. I am, as Manowar would say, a brother of true Metal and this album is true Metal if you ask me.

From the first track "Six Guns Loaded," the blazing sounds of extremely powerful vocals and a blazing guitar really consumes you and fills you with energy. At no point in the album does that energy leave you and all the great Britny Fox classics like Girlschool, Long way to Love, Dream On, and Lonely Too Long are all on there and I assure you that if you thought the studio version of these songs were head banging tunes, you have to hear how they sound live because it's twice as powerful and twice as good.

Sure, Britny Fox may not be a household name and maybe they never were as big as Poison or Bon Jovi, but they rock just as hard and just as long and I, the owner of a Heavy Metal website, am proud to promote Britny Fox as one of my favorite bands and this as one of my favorite albums. If you like rock, metal, or are just looking to sample some good music, this is the one for you.

5.0 out of 5 stars FINALLY!, March 7, 2001

This band ROCKS...always has, always will. I hope they put out a Greatest Hits and another studio cd. I also prefer this line up to the original. Coming from the same philly music scene these guys did, I was really happy to hear them cover Midnight Moses. From all us 80's guys in Philly who didn't get signed, thanks for sticking it out...Every song on here is GREAT!

There is really no way to describe this cd. This is the best one yet. And hopefully not the last. These guys are all very good friends of mine and I've known them for a long time and I hope they do well.

5.0 out of 5 stars AWESOME, March 26, 2001
This review is from: Long Way to Live (Audio CD)
This live CD is a great suprise. This is one CD in my changer I have been unable to get past. The mix sounds great at any level played. This is truly one CD that when it's cranked gives you the chills of a live performance. I give "congrats" to a band from my hometown.
