About the Author

Pat Schneider has published six books with several publishers, including House and Negative Capability Press. All are distributed by Amherst Writers & Artists Press.

Her poetry, plays and fiction have appeared in more than a hundred literary journals and magazines (Ms. Magazine; The Sewanee Review; The Sun; Minnesota Review; Kalliope; Exquisite Corpse, etc.) Her libretti have been recorded by the Louisville Symphony and performed by Robert Shaw and the Atlanta Symphony in Boston's Symphony Hall and in Carnegie Hall, New York City. Following the death of Martin Luther King, Pat worked with African American composer Flo Clark to create three oratorios for a 40 voice all-Black choir. These works were performed throughout the New England . Fourteen of her plays have been produced, nine published. There are more than 300 recorded productions of her plays in this country and in Europe. Her fiction and nonfiction is represented by Witherspoon Associates, New York.
