Another good adult western yard with Deputy Marshal Custis Long., September 30, 2009
This review is from: Longarm 360: Longarm and the Pecos Promenade (Paperback)
Beginning the short first chapter as a clumsy fool, it only took the beginning of the second chapter to wind up in a lusty session with Delinda Samson. As with all of Longarm westerns, he was assigned to Pecos way because of the problems they were having with stagecoach robbers. I will not spoil this review for readers by giving anymore details except to say that like all of Longarm's stories, there is plenty of action in and out of the bedroom in this entertaining adult western.
Rating: 4 Stars. Joseph J. Truncale (Author: Season of the Warrior: a poetic tribute to warriors).

"You know,I've been a lot of things in my life,Manny.First time I can remember ever bein' dead and buried.", September 28, 2010
This review is from: Longarm 360: Longarm and the Pecos Promenade (Paperback)
This episode finds Longarm back home in Denver,in the height of an unbearable winter. He hauls himself into Marshal Billy Vail's office and gets a pleasant surprise to find out his next assignment is in the much warmer enviroment of Pecos,Texas, where he has to find out who is responsible for robbing the stagecoaches and their U.S.Mail...now that's serious crime,a Federal offense.
The train ride from Denver to El Paso has a bit of a dustup in Trinidad, not an unusual occurrence for Longarm;but the rest of the trip is uneventful.
However, things pick up on the stagecoach trip to Pecos,as Longarm gets acquainted with a Southern beauty on her way to Pecos to see her uncle. Not far from the end of the trip;things change for the worse. There is a violent robbery of the stage, leaving it a wreck and half the passengers dead.
Arriving in Pecos ,Longarm finds a lot of bad characters but at least the Local Marshal is a good, though ageing Lawman. The ensueing story is filled with lots of fast-action,Old West style, well developed, interesting characters and descriptions by an writer who excels in sprinkling one-liners and expressions throughout the story.I believe this episode has more of them than any I can recall.
So,if it's good Old West palaver,one-liners ,expressions and descriptions,as opposed to an episode more like a mystery or whodunit, filled with twists and turns, motive and explanations, this is right down your alley.I was going to quote a few good ones, but there were so many to choose from, sometimes two or three per page;you'll just have to take it from me,this episode is loaded with them.
