"Sue,it's like I always told you since we were kids. There ain't no justice in this stinkin' world! No justice at all!',

This review is from: Longarm 371: Longarm and Sierra Sue (Paperback)
If you are a fan of the 'Longarm" series, and read many of them,I think you'll find this one of the most unusual. It's a well constructed story that is interesting for several reasons.First,as you know, there are several writers who write these episodes under the name of Tabor Evans. However, this must be the first I've read by whoever wrote this one.If anyone out there happens to know the actual writer of this episode,I'd sure like to know.I,along with other readers have mentioned that it is a shame that the publishers don't let us know the actual writers..oh well!I really enjoy the artwork on the covers of the western series I read, and have commented before,as to how ,with Longarm, there is usually little or no relation of the images on the covers to the story inside. It seems that the artwork is just a collage of images that are tossed together, often repeating the same images on different episodes.I thought we had an exception here with the raven haired beauty on the cover being Sierra Sue.It all fits her description, but what's with the riding crop? No mention of one in the story. As to the pile of gold coins, again no connection to the story. There was a large stash of money involved, but it was all in bills;recalling the scene where the bounty hunter was chasing a bunch of them blowing across the ground. There are usually many well described characters and scenes that would make great covers depicting something in the story, but these continue to be missed opportunities.Readers of the Trailsman series will see what I mean. As to the story itself, these two young brother and sister "outlaws" are different since they are not really outlaws ,but decent people, simply looking for justice.Longarm himself leaves us wondering about what happened to him.He lets his guard down ,not once but twice and gets knocked out with a pistol butt to the head.If this doesn't change,he'll soon be wearing a tin helmut. Then there's the time he leaves himself unarmed by simply handing his six-gun off to someone to guard aprisoner. That's simply something he just wouldn't do.Then, the writer keeps the storyline going by coming up with numerous hunches that all turn out to be correct as Longarm tries to find Sierra Sue and her brother Bob.Bounty hunters keep appearing out of nowhere and some of the least expected people get killed. The story keeps going on and on till eventually there are only a few still standing. Meanwhile, Fargo pays a soiled dove to leave him alone, springs for bottles of booze in the saloon, all the while missing out on the one beauty that has caught his attention. The story concludes without the reader ever finding out what happened with the crooked banker,Sierrs Sue and Bob's getting their justice and the young girl and her baby,...Like I said ,it is a great ,but different yarn;but one any Longarm fan is sure to notice, being a bit unusual.

This review is from: Longarm 371: Longarm and Sierra Sue (Paperback)
I actually bought this for a friend who loves these books. It is one of a series of western books about a man called Longarm, what I do know is these books are not for children, they are sexually explicit. From what my friend tells me this western man goes around having a lot of sexual encounters with women, this one he encounters Sierra Sue. I don't read them, I am just telling what he tells me, he loves them all. He had been looking for this one, I found it here on Amazon. He called & thanked me, was already reading it. He was loving every minute of it. I guess if you enjoy sexual western books this collection or this book would be great for you. To each his own. Hope this helps, Its a western book set in the old west about a man who likes sex, there is a story line also. All the Longarm books are connected to the same story line. Like a soap opera. My Buddy loves it !!!
