Co. Longford Ireland, Genealogy & Family History Notes
A very helpful work for me. The census gives locations of names within the county. Includes some history of lending families, but it is really to help you research further in Longford on your own. I like the several families included from O'Hart, and the sources giving families in the 17th century. It is nice to have the census, the map, the sources, and arms all...

Don't waste your money.
Don't waste your money on this book. It primarily consists of muddy images of pages from other books which are available in many large genealogy libraries. The lists of addresses, maps, and bibliographic citations can easily be found on the internet or in other books on Irish genealogy. You'd be better off buying yourself a Michelin map of Ireland, and checking out the...

Great collection of information, August 31, 2008
This review is from: Co. Longford Ireland, Genealogy & Family History Notes (Spiral-bound)
I must agree with the author, this isn't a "slick" production but it does have a wide range of information. I am researching for friends and family and have had trouble locating info until coming across this unique guide. It was of great help!

Best collected raw data I've seen on Longford, June 9, 2003
This review is from: Co. Longford Ireland, Genealogy & Family History Notes (Spiral-bound)
This is not a slick production, but it does have a wide range of information, much of which I was not aware of. As a family researcher I found the information quite interesting. It has much of the standard data found on the web, but also many things that cannot be found on the web. Just having everything bound together in one package is helpful for me. There is just not much out there on Longford, and this is one of the few works which will help real researchers. (not a coffee table book).
