This book wasn't as entertaining as I'd hoped. I didn't like the main characters and didn't care if they got together or not. I just wanted them to solve the black market baby dilemma. This wasn't a great book, lack of real chemistry, un-entertaining characters, and just an all round boring read...so I recommend borrowing from your local library, do not waste your money on this novel.

this book was such a good read! I was a bit leery towards purchasing because there were no reviews but I must say Donna Hill has outdone herself with this work here! Ashley ad Elliot's chemistry was so DEEP you can sensually feel it leaping off the pages. Their body language and conversations give you chills and tingles. Two smartasses (who have feelings for each other but don't want to admit to it or react to it) living under 1 roof and you're bound to have clashing and LOTS OF SEXUAL chemistry. I bought this book sunday and I knew I had to finish it once I read the first 5 pages and I finished it sunday night at 2am! I won't give the book away but Ashley ad Elliot have both gone thru some deep hurting and guilt in the past which makes them who they are and brings them together. I will definitely be buying the other ladies cartel books from the series! That JEAN SURE IS SMART! Buy the book to know what I'm talking about!

This is the first book that I have read from The Ladies Cartel series and I really feel that I have missed out on something after reading "Longing and Lies".
Ashley and Elliott have the job as posing as a married couple to bring down a baby trafficking ring. This job was just that for Elliott but for Ashley it was personal. Once they put their differences aside and realize how strong the chemistry is between them without the act, there is no turning back. The one thing Ashley didn't intend to do was like this man but she never thought she would love him. The question is does Elliott share these feelings? Longing and lies is a must read and once you start this book you will not put it down until you have finished it. I will be purchasing the rest of this series.
