This review is from: Longman Diccionario Ingles Basico, Ingles-Espanol, Espanol-Ingles: para estudiantes mexicanos (Basico Dictionary) (Paperback)
Well, I was excited at first when I found this dictionary. A cursory look and it seemed swell, illustrations geared to the kids, a nice pictorial spread in the center. Imagine my chagrin when I asked the kids to create a list of fruits. Fresa is not in the dictionary! Strawberry is there in the English side with fresa as a definition, but if you're getting a list of fruits from native Spanish speakers, they're not going to go look for Strawberry. Now I'm afraid that it's emblematic of sloppy editing and I sort of regret buying 10 as Christmas gifts for my ESL students. As the new year dawns and we start using these dictionaries in class I hope that the fresa-effect is an anomaly.

Few days later, here's another one: celery is not in the English side, although apio is on the Spanish side.
