This course gives students the skills, strategies, practice and confidence they need to increase their scores on all sections of the TOEFL Test, including the Test of Written English. This edition reflects the revised TOEFL, first administered in July 1995, and skill coverage has been expanded for all sections. Volume A explains and practices key language points so that students improve their language proficiency as well as their test-taking skills. Clearly defined steps, pre- and post-tests and TOEFL exercises guide students in improving TOEFL strategies and scores. TOEFL answer sheets are included, along with scoring information. The two cassettes contain a wide range of listening material. Volume B contains five complete practice tests; a comprehensive "Strategies" section to help students avoid common mistakes and maximize their time; and horizontal and vertical answer sheets to familiarize students with both common formats. The teacher's manual provides explanatory notes and teaching ideas, as well as tapescripts and full answer key.

About the Author

Deborah Phillips has been teaching English for over twenty-five years with an emphasis on test preparation and academic skills preparation. She has led seminars and participated in conferences on test preparation and English language teaching in Mexico, Brazil, Chile, Argentina, France, Spain, Indonesia, Japan, Korea, Malaysia, Saudi Arabia, Turkey, and the United Arab Emirates. She currently teaches courses for the certification of teachers in English as a second language at the University of California.  Ms. Phillips is the author of the Longman Preparation Course for the TOEFL® Test series of textbooks and CD-ROMs. She is currently working on new textbooks and CD-ROMs to prepare students for the latest version of the TOEFL® test.

Do not buy this book! The only section you can use without audio cds is reading, and you know what it does not even have answers for reading sections.If you want to pay all your money just to buy the cd which comes with book then buy it :) it is waste of money.
p.s : i bought this book in my country and had to paid $110 for it.

Very useful 4th of 5 components of this prep set. These recorded practice tests simulate the conditions of the sctual TOEFL test, matching it in speed of delivery and variety of speakers. Best way to practice for the test once you've prepped.

I cannot rate this item because I never received it. According to the seller, the item was lost during the shipping process.
