5.0 out of 5 stars You People Are Crazy!!!!!!!!!!This Movie Rules!!!!!!
This Movie kicks butt!!! (Even without the cameos) Now don't get me wrong I love O-town, and N'sync But I mean this is a great movie by itself!!!

Well, Alex is a 16 year-old, cute, Basketball player who misses the game-winning shot and the jocks are all over him for it. His big brother Jack is a personal fitness trainer in Beverly Hills who ends-up having a short one...

3.0 out of 5 stars Celebrity camio heaven...
I admit I watched the movie because *NSYNC was in it. But besides their really funny bit parts the movie was a no brainer. It was what it set out to be. A movie full of celebrity bit parts, and Lou Pearlman's up and coming acts, with a story line without much imagination. It was totally predictable and lets face it, it was never meant to be a Oscar nominee. But if you...

4.0 out of 5 stars Celeb Cameos and Teen Mushy-Mush, March 3, 2002

"Longshot" is a great movie....if you're a thirteen year old girl who loves *NSYNC. The plot is really dumb, but the celeb cameos provide a lot of comedy. The sappy love story is somewhar interguing, but only fot teenagers and pre-teens. However, if you're a fan of a celeb that's in this movie (especially O-Town or Chris Kirkpatrick who are easily the funniest) it's worth buying if you can find it...less expensive.

4.0 out of 5 stars So many stars, you'll need an extra pair of eyes..., July 29, 2002

This review is from: Longshot [VHS] (VHS Tape)
If you love (like me!) all those up and coming pop stars such as
Innocense, Take 5 and others, as well as the already pop superstars NSYNC, O-Town, LFO and Britney Spears... you'll LOVE this movie! It has guest appearances from everybody including some such as Kenny Rogers, Howie D's sister Pollyana, Kevin Eubanks (The Tonight Show) and so many more! The plot may be a repeat of the typical cheesy teen movie, but with so much great talent and music, you can't go wrong! This is a MUST HAVE for any hard core pop fan! (and while you're at it, get the soundtrack too!)

1.0 out of 5 stars The absolute worst movie I've ever seen in my life, June 28, 2002
By
This review is from: Longshot (DVD)
Yes ladies and gentlemen, it is that bad. I would much rather have been subjected to repeated viewings of "Exit Wounds" than one session of "Longshot". Unfortunately, I was bored enough to actually watch this the whole way through at a friends, god help me. If you have been suckered into actually buying this on DVD you've wasted your money. Okay, maybe if your a big Nsync fan or whatever and you feel it's necessary then enjoy. But to even try to tell me "Longshot" was the least bit good would send me into a rage.

I'm not even going to sum up the plot for you, because you'd be better off not knowing it. I cringed when Lance Bass actually turns to the camera and says "They need to get NSYNC", dear god, who created this movie and why? With cameos by such talented (yeah right) Pop stars such as O-Town, Nsync and Brittney Spears, how can you lose (that was sarcasm folks). But wait it gets better, your subjected to countless appearances by Gilbert Godfrey screaming his lungs out, boy that just made my day.

But like I mentioned, if your a big Pop fan, I guess you should get this, dear god did I just say that? Seriously though, if your curiousity is leading you towards this movie, lead it in another direction. Oh, and another side note, I have never in my life seen so many blatant product placements in one sitting. Well, my ranting is done, and for whoever had the idea to make this movie, do the world a favor and don't make a sequel.

1.0 out of 5 stars "Will Haunt Your Sleep and Retard Your Dreams"...., April 3, 2002

This review is from: Longshot (DVD)
.....to quote former MST3K host, Michael J. Nelson. And Christy Chasez hit the nail right on the head. This movie is pure pain. My friend bought this DVD at Wal-Mart for us to watch because we're fans of Nsync and just wanted to check out the cameos. We were laughing our butts off at the bad-acting, failed attempt at humor, God-awful dialogue and awkward situations. Boy band product placement galore. The music store in the movie is prominently featured as well as posters, cds, and videos of Trans Con. personalities(I should really say FORMER Trans Con. personalities). Short but funny cameos from Justin Timberlake as a valet, JC Chasez and Joey Fatone as pizza parlor employees and Chris Kirkpatrick as a pizza parlor patron(try saying that 3X fast). I can see easily why this movie never hit theaters. But I'm sure Trans Con. and Lou Pearlman are cashing in on this DVD and the soundtrack cd from Nsync fans wanting to catch glimpses of their heroes. If you're a fan of any stars in this movie and just HAVE to see them, please do not buy, you will be very upset that you did. You're safer renting and watching your favorite star's part over and over again. Too bad there isn't a NO STARS option. This movie makes "Glitter" look like "Gone With the Wind", seriously.

1.0 out of 5 stars been looking for this dvd forever, January 7, 2006
This review is from: Longshot (DVD)
and when i finally found it, it sucked! i expected it to be sumwhat stupid silly but it ended up being one of the worst movies ever. the whole story line doesnt even fully make sense. i think this was pearlmans idea to make big bucks off all the boy bands. if u like boy bands (like i do) ur prolly better off with the soundtrack, not the movie. the lines are cheesy, the main characters have no acting backgrounds...jus good looks, which is really pathetic. i paid 7 bucks for this movie and im feeling ripped off already. pretty sad.

4.0 out of 5 stars So bad . . . it's good, May 20, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: Longshot (DVD)
Okay, so I was embarrased to be seen with this DVD at first. Yet I had to get it because I wanted to see O-Town. I fully expected sub par acting, cheesiness and a terrible plot, but I was hoping that I could just catch O-Town and their song that wasn't on the album. However, this movie was an odd comedic gem. Instead of trying to pull it off, they just admited it was kind of a cheesy idea and made fun of themselves. For example when Justin Timberlake is doing valet parking and over the radio comes an N'Sync song, and he's like, "What is this garbage?"
The plot wasn't acadamy award winning material, but it connected things decently well, was believable enough to fit in to the ridiculous situation and keep the movie enjoyable. Not trying to be something it wasn't, the movie rightly didn't try to be serious. Longshot excels by embracing it's pathetic nature. Believe me, it's not as terrible as you may think.
