Look! Another Book! is, like the first, Look! A Book!, is a seek-and-find book. The text in seek-and-find books usually is just there to tell you what to seek. Not so here. Sure you get the directions, but so much more, and the writing is at least ten times funnier than you would expect. That's all I'm saying about the text because I refuse to give away the best rhymes.

Every two-page spread in this book is a feast, or more appropriately, a smorgasbord, for the eyes. Not one square centimeter is wasted. My absolute favorite, though, is the art gallery. So many wonderful homages on that page. The engineering in this book is no mean feat. It made my brain hurt to try to figure out how those cut-outs can highlight individual characters or objects but seem to disappear when the page is closed. Finally, I figured it out: It's magic. Don't tell me otherwise.

If you do get this book, don't skip the end-papers or the dedication -- I'm just saying.

Drawings are fabulous and I think that children will not tire of it. SO much to look at. I liked the way the book itself directs you to go back to the beginning to look for other things. The parents of the little one I gave it too were very happy with it.

Look! Another Book! is yet another of those seek and find books which is just fine with me as I love this sort of thing and having spent quite a number of years working with children I can attest to the fact that they love them too. Good grief...I have a lot of little kid in me still.

Can you spot the checkered Yak?

I must say though that this is one of the most unique and well done books of this genre I have encountered. Large and busy pages are heavily illustrated with various themes which include a school playground, town/theme park/and city, street scenes, space along with space creatures, a wonderful zoo, an art museum (Look at this one closely as it is completely filled with wonderful surprises, a creepy monster house, i.e. a science lab, and so very much more.

Can you spot a polka-dotted frog? Or even a skunk or a UFO punk?

These illustrations are on double pages and are separated by "Look" pages which have holes cut into them to that select items can be isolated on the next page which adds to the fun of the hunt. The illustrations are bright and cheery and simply fun to look at for both the little ones and adults alike.
This book took a tremendous amount to engineering skill and the pages are made of extra heavy duty paper so this book should last a long, long time in little hands.

Can you spot a goat or a teeny red boat or a blue kangaroo or a shoe along with beef stew?

This is the sort of book that a kid can spends hours with over and over again. I have to admit that I have given it several readings myself and each and every time I spot more and more.

This work is an absolute delight.

My 5 year old boy LOVES this book! Is it the monsters? The bright colors? The level of difficulty? The fact that he is very detailed? I don't know - but he LOVES it! Look Another Book is a fairly large book - ideal for lying on your tummy on the floor and looking at the pictures. Each double page spread is preceded by a solid colored page with 3 holes in it that highlights one thing each. It could be a punk alien or a drop of red paint or even a little monster - we'd look at that picture, then turn the page and try to find that item - he didn't quite connect that the picture would be where the whole on the previous page was when it was closed. But I'm sure that will come. =D

There don't seem to be a lot of things to find on each double page spread so I usually would find some little detail and ask him if he could find it - he doesn't read yet so he didn't realize that the book didn't asked him to do that. After you find everything in the book there is a full page that actually opens up vertically with another list of things to find. Everything rhymes which Connor loved and of course, being a boy, he LOVED the monsters!

This would be a great birthday book, FUN to read in the car, on a summer day at the beach inbetween building sand castles & wave surfing, in bed on a sick day - or whenever.

Wow. Really like this book which essentially a Seek-and-Find book for younger children. If you are familiar with WHERE'S WALDO and other look-and-find books, what you have is a busy two pages of graphics, with a list of objects you are challenged to find.

Bob Staake's book is very much like that, except that it has clever rhymes and examples. He presents the examples before each search venue. Something along the lines of,

LOOK!
A boot!
A fruit!
A crossing guard newt!

The CLEVER part is that there are holes in the pages of that show the things that are mentioned in the prose. So you have the fun of reading the book to a young child, and the fun of looking for the other objects in the pictures.

EVEN BETTER, at the end there is another list of items to be found. Which, of course, will be a lot more challenging since you won't even know what pages they are on.

Great fun. I laughed at the rhymes, and found this a fun book to share with younger kids.

Appropriate ages will vary. I can see using this with a preschoolers on up to the first or second grade. Definitely a book that will last a long time as moms and dads can find their own items in amongst the venues to have children find. Good value.

The second in the series, Look! Another Book! offers more than 125 thing to seek and find! Die-cuts help children focus in on a detail. Then they can turn the page and take in the jam-packed pictures. We had a great time playing "I Spy" with this book as well as laughing at the hysterical things we could spot. A pirate fishing with a banana? Check. A crab holding a candy cane? Check. A fish reading mail? Check!

Look! Another Book! matches the goofy sense of humor of children and captures their attention and imagination. This book gives them lots of practice being able to hone in on details of a busy page as well as practice and grow their vocabulary. This book offers fun exploration alone or with a grown-up. This book would make a fun gift or simply because :-)

My 2.5 year old daughter and I have been reading Bob's Look! A Book! and Look! Another Book! for a few weeks now.

She loves the holes in the pages. She started off just finding all the crocodiles but now that she is getting more comfortable with the pages she is OBSESSED with finding the donut and piece of pizza on each page.

Cognitively I think this book is really good for her. It's teaching her how to see the big picture but then drill down and look for individual things.

This is a great book for those children who love the I spy type of book. It seems simple until you get to the final page! Check it out. My grandchildren all love this book and its partner, LOOK a BOOK.

Just as cute as the first one. My 3 yr old grandaughter loves both of these books. You could read them every day to her and she giggles every time. She memorized the first one and reads it to me.

My great-granddaughter loves to read and was very pleased to receive her new books for Christmas. Because I started her book collection early,it is reflected in her school success.
