About the Author

Bob Dixon entered that United States Air Force in 1970 at age 18. When he left it in 1977, he spent the next 14 years in night school to earn his Associate's and Bachelor's degrees. Along the way, he worked for Honeywell and other major corporations as an employee or consultant in supplier management, global sourcing, and quality. In December 2010, Bob founded The Military Civilian Career Coaching Connection (MC4), a LinkedIn group that partners pro-bono coaches and mentors with U.S. military veterans to help them successfully transition into civilian careers. He's been featured on numerous national media outlets and has been a guest speaker at such venues as Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Georgia Tech University, Worcester Poly Technical Institute, Rutgers University, Drew University, and some of the largest corporations in Israel, Japan, the U.S., and China. Currently, Bob lives with wife in New Hampshire. On weekends, you're likely to find him on a John Deere tractor—or golfing.

More About the Author

Thank You for stopping by my Amazon Author Page

I've never been good at imagining what my life would be like in the future.

I've never had that vision to picture myself in that way. Maybe it would be better to say I never had the courage to picture myself like that. So the thought that someday I would write a book never happened. The idea that one day I would ask a priest to give one of my children the Last Rites was too horrible to imagine.

But here I am a book with my name and my son's name on the cover. The same son, who I asked be given the Last Rites of the Catholic Church. Something to impossible to have ever imagined...

My life was not easy as a young child. When I was 12 years old my father passed away from an awful disease. After high school I entered the United States Air Force. I stayed for almost 8 years and left the military in 1977. I was lucky when another veteran hired me for my first job at Honeywell.

I had no college degree so for 14 years I went to college 2 nights a week to get my bachelors degree. I never, ever, stopped believing in myself, or believing that if I was given a fair chance I could succeed.

Maybe I was too stubborn to accept that I may not be able to do something. I've never feared failure but I have always embraced the challenge of doing something others believed could not be done.

Today I'm a corporate leader having worked for major corporations in senior roles and positions.

I've been fortunate to be invited to give keynote speeches and presentations to some of the largest corporations UK, Israel, Japan, China and the United States. And also a guest speaker to MBA and PhD students and others at Shanghai Jiao Tong University, Georgia Tech, Worcester Poly Technical Institute, Rutgers University and Drew University.

Finally I lead a volunteer group of civilians who coach and mentor US Military personnel I've been invited to make multiple appearances on Fox and Friends discussing the challenges members of our US military face as they transition to civilian roles in business.

Thank you for stopping by, I hope you do buy the book. If you do, I'm pretty sure you will not be disappointed. Hopefully you will be inspired and like me, you will come to realize the world truly is, full of very good people.

My Regards - Bob Dixon

I'm not surprised by the intense and passionate style of this book. I've known Bob Dixon for over twenty years as a friend and former colleague and this is the way I've always know him to be. Look Forward is a mirror image of Bob's soul, the way he thinks, the way he feels, the way he acts. I wish Bob and Bobbie all the best in their journey forward. Knowing Bob, it will be nothing less than first class.

This book is a wonderful story in overcoming adversity. It is inspiring to see how people react and grow when life gives less than desirable outcomes. What shines through is a father's love for his son. Highly recommended for many different people: from parents, and responders to anyone who has faced a life altering accident. Best of luck to the Dixon family.

An excellent example of why we should never go through a day without counting our blessings and remembering to say "I love you".
The story of Bobby's emergence from a coma on Thanksgiving would bring tears of joy to a glass eye. A quick and easy read with a message that needs to reinforced in all of us.

The author does a great job of setting you up within his own emotional and psychological journey. Before getting too far into the details of the accident and the medical aspects, you are able to empathize with how one copes in such times of tragedy and feelings of helplessness (and hopelessness). You can't help but reflect on what it takes to move on and, indeed, to Look Forward.

This is really a great read for anyone who likes a good story. What Bob and Bobby have been through is almost unimaginable, but their story brings the reader in and makes what they went through all too real.
