Great Collection, Trashy Package,

An excellent choice of Fuzzbox's best songs, but the cover's all wrong: visually they were all about girlish charm & exuberance, not tawdry adult sexuality (worse art is used on the discs themselves). And why didn't they make the DVD all regions? These lapses aside, it's well done: great selection, all the promo videos, and informative liner notes.

While I am not a fan of the second half of the CD - not really into that Euro Dance Beat style sound - the first half of the record is fantastic. The remastering job is superb - just listen to "Love Is The Slug" - yeah Baby that's what I'm talking about! Great fun silly music to listen to cranked up while you're driving on the freeway. Rock on!

I had been looking for the song "rockin with rita" for ages until I finally located it here on Amazon.
It's a fun little tune from the early 80's. The rest of the CD has grown on me. At frist I kind of just thought of them as that "typical" early 80's euro new wave stuff, but as I listened to the CD more and more, it grew on me. It's a fun little album.

X X FUZZBOXXX (Gets Exploited),

Not only are these girls hot-looking, funny, and unique, but they've got great singing voices and an original style that unfortunately was abandoned to score in the U.S. Since their first album (and in my opinion, their only pure, unadulterated album) has yet to be released on CD, I welcome this limited set of their earlier material. It's sad how their music and image changed as early as their second album, but there are still some good songs (and still hot girls!) on their newer releases. I really enjoyed hearing the different versions of their songs. Still hoping to see a live FUZZBOX DVD get released. If you like Fuzzbox, you'll like this CD.

Good testament of their output,

Ahh, Fuzzbox, jewels of the crown in the indie scene in the mid-80's, later evolving into a professional Pop group with great melodies. They only released 2 studio albums but they are so different it feels like they're two different bands. Some are fans of the older punk/indie material while others of their later pop/rock ditties.
This compilation has 21 songs on it. Tracks 1-10 are from the early days, tracks 11-17 are from 1989/90 and rest are new remixes. the songs from the early era are not standout songs, but they have a lot of attitude, they're likable and they keep growing on you. there's a pair of unreleased songs like Taking the easy way out, which, unusually, has Tina (the drummer) on vocals, and it's a bit annoying but likable nonetheless. So Long is one of their early demos for their second album which didn't make the cut and it's good too. Their second album saw them move to poppier pastures and radical change of image. early fans thought they had sold out, but the fact is, their sharp lyrics and keen sense of humour prevailed, and the songs were very catchy. The Big Bang! album is great and varied, from the quasi-metal feel of Self! (which had Brian May on guitar), to the perfect pop of Pink Sunshine and the sci-fi lyrics and sound of international rescue and fast forward futurama. Included here is their last single, your loss my gain, and it's b-side, a re-recording of early song do i want to, as well as an unreleased song from their never released third album. I wish there was some b-side from that era too, like raining champagne or bohemian rhapsody, but anyway... Their videos portray their sense of humour and goofy personas (gotta love the weird sunglasses of Jo on every video), as well as their evolution from bleached punkettes to sexy pop divas. The standout videos are International rescue (a spoof on the thunderbirds and barbarella), the funny love is the slug and the balloon-crazed Pink Sunshine.

I Blame GEFFEN!!!!!!,
This review is from: Look at the Hits on That (Bonus Dvd) (Audio CD)
In the 80's, Geffen Records picked up a bunch of English bands, and in EVERY signing, they sent an A&R guy to them and said, 'Look. If you want to make it big in America, you must do this, this , and THIS.' Many band quickly lost their 'edge' thanks to this A&R guy, but none did it so quickly, and as sadly as FUZZBOX. This complilation is proof of how a band can eisily be swayed by a major to abandon their origonal and unique stlye and shoot their carrer in the foot. Buy and cry! I did

Great CD and a Great DVD,

The other reviewer reported the DVD not being all regions...
BUT IT IS. Maybe and older DVD player can't play it but 2 of the 3 players I have play it with no trouble and I do Not own an all regions player. [I checked] Nearly every music DVD released in the UK and Europe is all region. Why this is I don't know but you should check it out. As for the tunes I love them all but the between album single "Taking the Easy Way Out" b/w "So Long" is bizarre. The "A" (Taking) sounds like Fuzzbox's lead singer working with an old Devo backing track. This song sound NOTHING like any other Fuzzbox song and the trademark 'fuzzbox' guitar is absent. I wouldn't even recognize this as Fuzzbox. The next shocker is that "So Long" is very much like the tracks on "Big Bang" but is so different from "Taking the Easy Way Out" that I suspect many fans buying this single would be confused. But as a whole "Look at the Hits on That" does give you 6 Fuzzbox tracks that were never before on CD. (Fuzzbox's first disc was vinyl/cassette only). And I think this marks the first CD appearance of the wonderful "Rockin' With Rita" single that Fuzzbox does backing vocals on. "Your Loss, My Gain" / "You" / & "Do I Want to?" were from Fuzzbox's last single. I have this on a 3" CD (remember those?) "Your Loss, My Gain" was a real good track and meant to lead off Fuzzbox's 3rd album which never appeared. The tracks off of Big Bang are probably the best ones from that disc and the remixes that round off this compilation are just fine. The DVD was great. I had only seen "Love Is the Slug" on MTV back when MTV played things like that. The other 8 videos are good. The girls look better when not raiding Cyndi Lauper's closet. I really liked the "Rockin' with Rita" video. I wish somehow I knew 'who was who'. Fuzzbox is there doing backing vocals but the other players are unknown to me. I know it's the Nightingales and another chap but I can't put a name with a face. Get this disc!

DVD disc doesn't play,
By Leola hulet (Montana) - See all my reviews

The music cd part works, but the dvd disc doesn't work, my dvd player says " Disc error" -Please eject this disc- playback feature may not be available on this disc" I'm very unhappy, I paid all this money out for this cd/ dvd set and then the dvd disc not working. Now what do I do?? Can't use the dvd now. PS just found out that the dvd is a PAL format that only works in Eroupe NOT in the USA. We the USA only can use NTSC Format. So if your from the USA and buy this dvd it will not work here in the US. And there is no way you can use the dvd, so you are just wasting money on a dvd that doesn't work and won't work for us here in the US. So don't let people fool you and say that the dvd works here in the US with any other dvd player. The dvd players here in the US won't play PAl which is what this DVD is. Just a waste of money on a dvd that you can never use. Now the cd works but not the DVD.
