Why do I Want to be Famous?,
By Buffalo Barzane "Buffalo" (Evanston, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Look at Me!: The Fame Motive from Childhood to Death (Paperback)
The sight of all those people lining up for "American Idol" tryouts has to raise the question: Who are those people and why are they willing to put up with the almost certain rejection that goes with the experience? "Look at Me! provides answers. It turns out that there is a significant number of people in this nation (and around the world) who have the desire for fame as a basic motive driving their lives. In this book I learned that the fame motive has never been seriously explored from the perspective of an expert in human development. Dr. Brim provides that analysis. What's pleasantly surprising is that this book is not a scholarly tome. It is written in a way that a person looking for a good book on an interesting topic will enjoy. Do you feel an inexplicable need to be famous and don't quite understand why? Do you wonder who all those people are who are driven to present themselves to the world on U-Tube? This book is for you.

silly book with a simple argument,
This review is from: Look at Me!: The Fame Motive from Childhood to Death (Paperback)
Besides the fact that the book is terribly written, his argument is simplistic and repetitive. While reading this book I felt like his argument could have been clearly stated in 1 chapter.
